Shoot, I went to Catholic school for 11.5 years, was an altar boy and went to mass every Sunday and major religious holy day.

That ended about 20 years ago.

But I still consider myself Catholic. And they still waste money on sending me collection envelopes.

Source of the post I actually don't think it is any different percentage
wait now...you're positing that the last 20 years has NOT seen a decline in overall worship? or is this an in the weeds point about "membership". because this is potentially a nuclearly hot take.

Outside of weddings, I have been in more Buddhist temples in the last week than I have churches in the last 30 years. And I was only in the one Buddhist temple.

I was picking my car up at the shop and saw two women walking up the road, one pulling a cart behind her with a sign behind it. Long story short, it was this person:

https://www.shewalkstheearth.com/

Struck up a nice conversation with her, it's always cool when you have random encounters with someone that's doing something like this for a good cause. Her mom accompanies her, riding behind in a sit down bike with supplies in the back of it, along with their small dog. She is currently making her way back to Bend, OR.

Since I actually exist in this world let me tell you what I know to be real.

My own denomination has the same number of people today that we did in 1970.

Obviously, adjusted for per capita and population growth that means a decline.

You must have missed the post above the one you quoted.

Raw numbers haven't changed much, percentages of people who respond to surveys has. That's what I noted above. Lots and lots of people used to pretend to be church folk, now there is no cultural or familial reason to do so.

In other words the people who actually attend regularly still do, the folks who kind of did, don't anymore.

It's a chaff/wheat kind of thing.

I'm thinking of getting pill pack from Amazon. Not that's it hard to dole out the pills to my weekly container but it would be easier and would come to my door.

The non-religious are nothing but a waste product?

Also, 3 or more times the chaff for the same amount of wheat within a lifetime doesn't seem very sustainable.

Outside of summer vacations, we never missed Sunday school and church. Granted that was 40 years ago but I would think it's more then 10% these days that show up every week.
I think people just travel more in general now. Families live further apart, etc. It's not uncommon to have stretches of three or four weeks where we are not at church.
I'm not catholic, but go to a catholic church every week with the family. If we are traveling on the weekends (which is a lot), we usually find a church to go to wherever we are. I actually enjoy doing this.

I'm thinking of getting pill pack from Amazon. Not that's it hard to dole out the pills to my weekly container but it would be easier and would come to my door.
I switched about 6 months ago and I'm enjoying it.
pros:
I don't have to sort out meds and vitamins anymore every sunday night
the packages easily fit in my pocket when leaving the house every morning
no more trips to the pharmacy. everything comes right to my door
their communication system is great. they always let me know when my refills have run out

cons:
it's taken several months to get my doctor to understand that this is my main pharmacy for anything I don't need quickly
I feel like those empty little pouches are everywhere in my house
not all of their medications are great (one of the pills they sent me had a nasty aftertaste. fortunately we were able to switch to a different manufacturer)
they don't offer one of my herbal supplements, Kava Kava.

I also kind of hate that it's an Amazon company now but so far I'm not noticing a difference in service.

Interesting info. North America set over Europe/Africa at same latitude.

Weather is weird. I don’t get how England and deep Canada can have the same latitude.

Nope, because they also put rescuers at risk, as well.

Deserves is certainly too strong, but I’m not losing sleep over them. Plant, grow n’at.
