I am starting a movement to refer to Instagram as "The Iggy."I’m going to bring back the keeping a pen behind your ear thing
As in, "Did you see my latest post on The Iggy?"
I'm old and this annoys my children and younger co-workers.

I would be curious as to the cultural reasons why Indians always riot. And tomorrow, our Pune office will be out because of this: state wide protest declared in Maharashtra, rioting expected

If I had to guess, a big part of it is there simply being too many of them, and they live right on top of each other. Tensions increase quickly in that setting, especially when you add in the stinking streets and horrible heat and humidity.

Japanese cities are crowned, and there's pretty horrible heat and humidity in the summer, yet the Japanese don't riot. It can't be that. Looking at the "factions" listed on that Wikipedia page, it looks like the vast majority of the listed riots involved ethnic or religious conflicts. I see a lot of Muslims vs. Hindus, a lesser number of Zoroastrians vs. Muslims, and Tamils vs. other ethnic groups. Same thing, then, as most of human history—one tribe beating up another tribe.

Violence stemming from organized religion? I’m shocked. Shocked, I say!

For some reason, I've found myself watching chess videos on YouTube. I especially like agadmator's channel:

This inspired me to download a chess game for my phone. And that reminded me that I've never been very good at the game.

The first two times I played chess against my Ukranian classmate (who eventually became my roommate), he beat me in four moves. Both times.
