You would think I would know after almost 26 years of marriage, if my wife says something like “Do you want to go to IKEA?”. It’s not really being presented as optional.

@AuthorTony: Refresh my memory - did you switch to mirrorless? After this last trip, I'm really not enjoying lugging around my D750 and two lenses (24-70 and 70-300). I rarely use the latter, and am wondering if it's worth looking into selling the D750 body, buying a Nikon mirrorless, and a lens adapter (if it can be done for around the same cost).

Yep, I'm using a Z6 now with the adapter. I don't know what your D750 would fetch now. I doubt you're be able to make the swap even up. I think you'd be looking at putting $400-$500 into it, but I'm really not on top of the market like I used to be, so those numbers could be way off.@AuthorTony: Refresh my memory - did you switch to mirrorless? Lol, they were close.
I must say... Around 945, the fireworks diminished to the point where I haven't heard even the most distant boom in about twenty minutes. People out here are really respectful, I'm guessing because of the tight relationship with the farming community

PA did pass a new law for that purpose. Though I thought July 4th weekend and NYE we're exempt with 1am curfews instead of 10pm.
That, and the law is not in effect yet, so, carry on...

The key to sleeping through fireworks is apparently to fly halfway across the world and stay up for 24+ hours the day before. Didn't hear a single firework last night.

It was pretty tame around here. I think last year the 4th was on a Sunday (Monday off work), and the previous year it was on a saturday, so maybe more tame last night since everyone has to work today

This is a compelling idea. The key to sleeping through fireworks is apparently to fly halfway across the world and stay up for 24+ hours the day before. Didn't hear a single firework last night.

Went out to dinner in downtown Houston on a business trip on a night when NKOTB were playing Toyota Center.
Man have their fans not held up well. Backstreet Boys fans are probably a little less seasoned.
Also, nobody should be wearing the same clothes they wore 35 years ago.

BSB are playing at Star Lake so that's a shitty drive at 5pm on a weekday for a 7:30 show. Glad my wife's friend wanted to go. Can only imagine the traffic nightmare has gotten worse over the years there.

Lol, some of the neighborhood moms are going to see NKOTB in a week or so. My wife is still undecided on going.

Four of the five members of that band are over 50, and the fifth is 49. Should be called Old Guys With Bad Backs.
