My agency gives an extra hour off from time to time for various celebrations and as recognition. Since Monday is a holiday they're giving us an hour off today. Normally we just leave an hour early and that's it, but since last night was Valentine's Day we had the option of coming in an hour late.

Yup.

This is the first agency I've been to where they use it in conjunction with regular holidays. But, hey, I'll take it.

It's funny to me that I went through all the trouble to make this site happen 5 years ago and I went full Admin and just stopped posting. Yinz have like 30k posts now and I'm here barely over 3k.

I don't even know some of you anymore.

IIRC that's a line quoted verbatim from the book.

So a month ago my insurance said they'd cover the full amount for my kids hearing test at birth.

They didn't tell me they'd be sending me a check for the cost instead of just paying the provider directly.

So a month ago I threw away an EOB that must have had a check in the back.

Its 2019 and were still worrying about checks.

I never heard of casu marzu before today. I wish I could go back in time and not have knowledge of this abomination. But since I can't, I'm sharing it with all of you.

Because the larvae in the cheese can launch themselves for distances up to 15 centimetres (6 in) when disturbed, diners hold their hands above the sandwich to prevent the maggots from leaping.
Thanks Tony.

I'd be curious for @slappybrown to chime in. He's not Sardinian obv but probably has the closest ties of any of us

I've actually heard of this before thanks to someone so gracefully sharing it on another message board years back. I know there are a lot weird ass things out there that I would never try, but this is one where IMO someone has to legitimately be mentally disturbed to want to eat it.

I think zimmern ate some of that and said it’s straight ammonia. Of course he loved it.
