My siblings and I did this this year. After passing around the same $50 Amazon gift cards every birthday we called it quits and only do Christmas now. My Mom was really annoyed by it for some reason but my bro/sis were happy to cut out the work.

My brother and I were (and still are) very close growing up. For his 30th, I have no issues buying him a bottle of bourbon and getting it delivered to his house. I had not gotten him a birthday present since his 21st.
