Yeah, really looked like some were aiming for the stuff they hit.^Some of those have to be staged...right? Right?

Actually kind of digging the iPhone X. The face recognition is waaaaay better than the fingerprint reader, and the missing home button is a good thing. The lack of a headphone jack is dumb and the notch obstruction at the top might end up making me hate it, but as of now I’m the 1990’s computer thumbs up kid.

My wife only has an iPhone for pretty much the sole purpose of Facetiming family, specifically her 81 y.o. grandmother (who admittedly, is more tech savvy than most her age). Every single member of her family has nothing but Apple products, and she's fed up at this point...the headphone jack was the last straw, adapter or no.

Back in the office after being out most of last week with the flu. Haven't been that sick for a while. Ugh.

The post gazette trimmed its comics section to 1 page from two pages. The bastards got rid of sally forth. Another sign of the decay in the American spirit and American journalism.

I believe we shared a similar exchange, but I fondly remember perusing the comic section in my late teens/early 20s. We get the Lancaster Sunday newspaper, and I only pull out the comics section because that's where the NYT Sunday Crossword is (which I am so damned close to finishing). I just don't find them at all funny anymore, even the ones I used to like (Beetle Bailey, etc).

If one were to do a poll on such activity, I think it would end up as one of those Ed-Schultz-on-MSNBC things where you get like a 96-4 result. The 4 are probably only not using their middle fingers because of some pagan requirement related to ritualistic animal sacrifice.Middle finger...but I have a horrible feeling this is going to end up being a hotly debated topic for some dumb reason.Which finger do people snap with?

That and the Far Side.Calvin and Hobbes is where it's at.
Hard to believe, but Far Side stopped running (new cartoons at least) 22 years ago this past New Year's Day. Calvin and Hobbes stopped in December 1995.

Far Side is great. Dilbert is probably #1 for me, though.

Every year I ask for the Far Side compendium for xmas and I never get it. Sad.

My favorite about the Far Side is how often Larson used sharks.

It's wild how young Watterson was when he retired. He isn't even 60 yet. That and the Far Side.Calvin and Hobbes is where it's at.

Garfield should've stopped around the mid-1990s as well. But, alas...

As far is comics that are still in print, Dilbert and Drabble are probably #1 and #2 in terms of consistent quality. Pickles, which is in the trib, is also funny. Everything else blows, especially that coasting POS jim davis and his pathetic effort that he calls "Garfield"

I loved Garfield when I was a kid (in the 80s). I like the Garfield minus Garfield comics better than what Davis has put out over the last 20 years.
However, my youngest son, who doesn't like to try new foods, tried lasagne because Garfield likes it. So there's that.

Jim Davis is the biggest sellout in the history of comic strips. He is exactly the kind of artist guys like Watterson loathe. But hey, can't say I wouldn't do the same.
