Probably depends on what counts as live action. If its batted balls in play then yeah thats high but if every pitch/ pick off throw counts then probably not

In baseball, a routine 'play' - like a complete cycle of action in which that clock is moving - can be one guy throwing a ball to another guy, uncontested or opposed. And that's it. That's the end of the play. The guy throwing the ball back to the first guy doesn't count as action.
In football, action generally consists of all 11 players on each side physically opposing each other, sometimes with morbid violence.

What happens if the guy throwing the ball back to the first guy airmails him and the runner takes off?In baseball, a routine 'play' - like a complete cycle of action in which that clock is moving - can be one guy throwing a ball to another guy, uncontested or opposed. I like baseball less and less every day dadhole owns the team, and haven't been in five years. I will say though in the case of both football and baseball, just counting the actual time there is play going on discounts the anticipation between plays. Except for commercial breaks, which suck in the stadium but are common to all four sports, part of the fun of football and baseball is the anticipation between plays. What pitch will they throw? Is the runner going to try to steal a base? How is the defense shifted? Will they run or pass? Will they go for it on 4th and 2 from their own 48 or will they punt? Is the defense going to blitz?
It's fair to subjectively say "baseball games take too long," and maybe they do. Just the amount of actual time spent on active plays though isn't necessarily a fair comparison of the sports, if you understand the sports.

IMO if you want to nitpick, any time a runner is on base could technically be considered live action with the exception of the time between a foul ball and a pitcher getting the replacement ball from the ump.
Baseball will also improve without the shift since guys might actually try to hit the ball in play again

I just want batters to stop stepping out and "adjusting" their batting gloves after every. damn. pitch.

this is the key to quicker games, no joke. you'd cut 15-20 minutes out just like thatI just want batters to stop stepping out and "adjusting" their batting gloves after every. damn. pitch.

The fact that baseball people are parsing this is proof of the absurdity of the thing.

what's absurd...?

Not being able to tell if your sport is in 'action' at a given moment is kind of absurd.

The truth is baseball doesn't belong in this comparison because it's an untimed sport. The game progresses only upon achievement of discrete events...
Like tennis... what would tennis be? 100% action?

Wife and I were just talking about this. Both of our plates are peeling and we had no idea how to fix. Just saw this on WTAE. Not sure if any of you have peeling plates, but you have to fill out a form and either of an officer or a person that completes state inspections sign off to mail in for a new plate.
If you don't get it fixed, you can get pulled over and issued a $100 fine.

I was cutoff by a large turd driving a truck with a completely peeled off plate today.
