I'm sure that hour long conversation between a marketing manager and an NHL goalie was riveting.
:lol:

He left with the impression that MAF really, really misses Pittsburgh and the Penguins organization. Maybe he was just being nice because we're Penguins fans, but that's the impression that was left.

When I was in Florida last month I played a round of golf. Got paired up with some rich old Quebecois. The husband is/was a real estate broker and did the sales for Fleury's houses.

Beats talking to Ryan Reaves for an hour.

You mean sitting there as Reaves roided-ly yells in your face for an hour before you can even get a word in

Yeah but Reavo doesn’t know enough words to talk for an hour

If you had to abbreviate "optional"...is there any better choice than "Opt."...? Is there anything that feels better than that...?

I can't think of a better abbreviation... why is an abbreviation necessary?

Heh, I'm looking at very old code I see that the person who made it, abbreviated "Optional Documents" as "(OPS)", and I'm trying to wrap my head around it...given the profound lack of "s" in "optional" -- is this a phonetic abbreviation...?

Ops = Operations

Anyone using it for any other word is a waterhead.

Yeah, I agree with you, NTP...but I also see that "(OPS)" has dependencies...it's a load-bearing abbreviation, if you will. So I won't be changing that as there are several stored procedures that are actually looking for that exact parenthetical abbreviation. Sick.

I bet if you look hard enough, you're going to wind up finding other things that make you wonder what the **** somebody was thinking.

Reminds me of one of the guys I used to work with who would create variables in his scripts using the word 'variable' in them, lol. "$variable_i"

****, just use $i like a sane person

M is a thousand in Roman numerals and MM would be 2,000.

Yes but the dolts that came up with the abbreviations used to use m for 1,000 and then mm for 1,000 x 1,000 = 1,000,000 and mmm for billions. I guess it all hits to the original point that it's a dumb abbreviation.

The Romans probably didn’t have a million of anything so why would they care?
