Randomness Dos
My senior year college roommate was always a little different - very organized, very particular to the point of OCD, a bit of a food snob, and would iron his jeans and t-shirts. We all knew he was gay, but hell it was 1995-6, so we just let him do his thing. He was my best man at my wedding in 2003, and we've sort of stayed in touch since then. He came from a very conservative Catholic family, so he was always held back by that.
He ended up coming out just about two years ago, and he got married last weekend. He knew he was gay in high school, but his family and cultural climate kept him in the closet completely until about 5-6 years ago. His family is happy for him and accept him and his husband (thankfully).
But man, to remain in the closet for half of your life is just tough. We're all so happy for him, and it's good to see him so happy.
That's pretty good news for 2020.

Yeah, I know several gay dudes and lesbetarians and whatnot. A few of them lived 'normal' (sarcastic) lives prior to coming out, and I just can't fathom the emotional turmoil that must entail. It sucks that pressures still exist like that.
Also, Jonathan Groff is a gay dude that has never been with a woman and was delivered by C-section. So since he has never been inside a cooch, he is, in his own words, a Platinum Gay. I wasn't aware that was something a person could do, or that there was stack ranking of that sort of thing.

I came out as bisexual about 2 years ago. I've known my whole life pretty much. Feels good to not hide it anymore. My family was very supportive and accepting. I lost a couple friends but who needs them anyway. I definitely don't consider it the same as being homosexual and having to hide that. That's a whole other beast I can't imagine having to deal with.

It's akin to Gold Star Lesbian who has never touched male genitalia. Their term, not mine.I’m perplexed...I wasn't aware that was something a person could do

Forget it. The bugs were terrible over the last couple muggy days. The lanternflies are absolutely out of control... The house a few doors down probably had a thousand of them at least going up the trunk. We need a really cold winter to kill off as many as possible.Man, **** cold weather.

I just had the most delightful interaction with a LEGO support operator.
I had earned enough points to get a $20 discount, but I mistakenly redeemed it for use in a LEGO store instead of online.
I called the support line, and a lovely woman switched it to online store without hassle. She then talked to me for almost ten minutes about what set I was buying, some of her favorites and what her kids liked, etc.
So I got off the phone and ordered the set and evidently my account was flagged for upgraded shipping. The customer support operator gave me overnight FedEx shipping for some reason. What a nice surprise.
Their customer support is well known for going above and beyond, and have done that a few times for me in the past - replacing missing or broken parts without question for free. There was even a story of how a kid saved his money for one of their train sets only to find out that by the time he had enough money, the set had been retired. Well, LEGO had one in a warehouse and shipped it out to him. How cool is that?

You were just downgraded to "dude, where's my package?" shipping, my friend.Source of the post The customer support operator gave me overnight FedEx shipping for some reason. What a nice surprise.

I've had a couple encounters with their customer service and it's been terrific as well. Took a little while to get a missing piece from Denmark or wherever, but they sent it for free. I love that my kid builds the set and about 20 minutes later has half of it taken apart and mutated with his own creation. Took a while for me to be ok with that because that's a lot of hours of work, just to break it down directly after, but that's a me problem, hahaI just had the most delightful interaction with a LEGO support operator.
