Five Below, where 99% of the items are $5, and the rest is $4.50. I’m usually able to grab a few stocking stuffers there, but the selection this year is trash.

A Signal Mountain, Tenn. firefighter resigned last month after being mistaken for a burglary suspect while dressed as a woman and performing a sex act on another man inside the Shackleford Ridge Road fire station.

It was 11:15 p.m. on Oct. 6 when a Signal Mountain police officer drove by Fire Station No. 2 and saw what appeared to be a woman inside the fire station’s lobby and a man standing just outside, according to an investigative report. In the parking lot, he saw a black Dodge pickup truck with an Alabama license plate that he did not recognize.

The officer thought he may have just witnessed a trespassing violation or a burglary, so he looked in a window to the training room and saw the two people engaged in a sex act, the report states.

The officer entered the building and saw the man running toward an exit while zipping up his pants, according to the report. He yelled at the man to stop and ultimately apprehended him outside.

Once the man, who was from Alabama, was in custody, he told police that the woman he was with was actually a man, and that man was a firefighter who had let him into the building, the report states.

All jokes aside, as someone with a moderate to severe case of claustrophobia, I'd be freaking the F out if I was this kid.

When I was stationed on a cutter, at one point I was in the bottom bunk. With those bunks, you can lift them up and stow them (clip them to the overhead bar) when not in use. A couple of my buddies thought it would be funny to do that while I was sleeping in there. I kicked so hard in the panic that I broke the lock.

That'd be an absolute horror scenario for me. I'm not sure what's worse, my claustrophobia or my acrophobia. Probably the former, but only slightly.

When I was in college I worked summers as a camp counselor. Two weeks out of the summer you were assigned to the maintenance manager for grounds duty. They brilliantly decided to have a bunch of college kids paint a tin roof on a two story house. No safety gear, tie offs, nothing. I stepped in a spot of wet paint and started sliding. Would have been a 40 foot fall or so. Did manage to catch myself but I didn’t go up there again.

Have been horrified of heights ever since. Way more afraid of heights than pretty much anything else.

I’m glad I don’t really have any fears like that. No issues with heights, love flying, etc. I will say that seeing videos where divers are squeezing into caves where the path/opening offers 1” of room on all sides makes me nervous as hell.

I visited a salt mine near Cracow a few years ago and it turned out the only way back up was a tiny elevator that was meant to carry 8 passengers. I was first in and when the 6th person got on and the elevator was already cramped, I simply said "let me out" (I was with friends and they wisely obliged immediately). Luckily, I wasn't the first visitor with this problem, and after briefly contemplating what it would be like to spend the rest of my life in a salt mine, I was allowed to take an elevator up with just three persons on board (a guide and an equally claustrophobic Asian lady).

I don't mind flying, though. You're basically indoors, right? Yeah, it's not rational.

I agree, I love to fly, it’s outdoor heights that flip me out.

Although I’m not a huge fan of the glass floor in the CN Tower.

Yeah, that floor got me good. Was acting tough and pretending it wasn't going to bother me, as soon as I got to the threshold my legs stopped moving and I almost tripped and fell onto it.

I want to go on that glass walkway over the Grand Canyon. Zero chance my wife and daughter share that thought.

My kids were jumping up and down on it, and while I had read up on it and knew it was actually stronger than a regular floor and could hold like 36 buffalos or something like that.... ok come on guys, we gotta go.

A lot of the art world thinks it's a John McCracken piece...

Secretly, I can't believe a name like John McCracken wasn't used as a 1970's TV detective who plays by his own rules...
