Reddit is a damn trip. I've been on there for years, mainly posting in video game subreddits. I honestly haven't used it as much lately, because until this week, I was working from home and not needing to kill time.
I made kind of a throwaway comment about Modern Warfare a day or so ago, and forgot about it. I logged in this morning and I had 11 replies - some sort of record. I thought, "Oh ****, what did I do." I couldn't even remember the comment, but it somehow got 1700 karma on a post that went to /all or /gaming or something and got 17K+ karma.
I've actually made legitimately helpful posts - PC help, library stuff, whatever - that get a couple of karma. This throwaway, grammatically incorrect post is my all time karma leader in 7+ years on reddit. It makes no sense.

So, I bought one of those giant skeletons from Home Depot and it was delivered today. Twelve feet doesn't sound that big until you see it in person.

we felt it in our hotel in Asheville. first time I've ever actually felt an earthquake.We just had an earthquake. Friends of mine in Greensboro and Greenville, SC felt it.

Depending on how close you are to it, a 5 can be a decent hit.
Like I say, mild quakes are kind of fun. And you will know within about 2 seconds whether or not it's one of the fun ones or about to be international news.

I’m 180 or so miles from Sparta, NC. It was like pandas were running through the house for about 20 seconds or so. So I guess that’s fun.

I remember teaching my first year of grad school (Fall 2011) and I was on the 5th floor, writing on the chalkboard, and I thought the board was falling off the wall, so I grabbed it quick to hold it up. When I realized it wasn't falling, I turned to the class and they were all looking bewildered. One kid goes "that was an earthquake..." I said, "this is Pennsylvania. We don't have earthquakes here..." 
My lab mates who were in the basement of the chemistry building didn't even know it happened, but I certainly felt it on the 5th floor.
