First impression is that dude guy is not telling the whole story about that night at the hotel pool. And I agree completely with everything in the top response (basically that the decision to terminate has already been made, and the hearing is largely for administrative purposes).

Had a strange robo-call interaction today. I get a call from a local number, and of course I let it go since I don't recognize it. 2 seconds later, they call back. And again. And again. This happens 4-5 times and I'm getting worried that maybe the police are trying to get a hold of me due to some emergency. But I figured they'd leave a voicemail if it was important, so continue to ignore. Finally, a voicemail comes in. Then 2 voicemails, and 3. I listen to them and it's an elderly lady.

First voicemail: Hello, this is (her name) and I just saw that you called. Please call me back.
Second voicemail: Hello (my name), you keep calling me and I don't want what you are selling. If you are a robo-call please stop calling this number
Third voicemail: Please disregard this phone call, thank you

In total, I receive 3 voicemails and 12 calls from this lady. That's after I finally got to the "Block this caller" screen, so who knows how many more times she would have called.

Two things really stand out: 1) how did she rapid-call me so quickly? As soon as I would hit "end call", another call would come through. 2) how did she know my name? My cell is a company phone, and anytime I call somebody the caller ID shows my company's name. Very strange.

Columbia Gas is going to get their asses handed to them, and deservedly so. It sounds like residents had been complaining about gas odors for months.

One house in Lawrence exploded, sending the chimney flying. It crashed into a nearby car, fatally wounding a teenager who was inside. Leonel Rondon, 18, and two of his friends were in the car when the debris struck, his family told CNN affiliate WHDH. He later died at the hospital, authorities said.
