21 but the first time I saw this it said “laid eyes on “ or something in which case it’s 22-I’ve seen Pike’s Peak but never been to it. Actually 23 because same for Alcatraz.

13, counting several I've seen but not really been to (Alcatraz, Space Needle, Hollywood Sign).

11 but I'd need a definition of "been to". have I been inside the St. Louis Arch? no but I drove right past it and saw it with my own eyes. kind of the same for Statue of Liberty. we purposely rode the Staten Island Ferry round trip just so we could do a sail-by on it.

I guess I haven't actually been to the Hollywood sign either. Only found out googling today that you can even take a walking tour.

Driving through the arch or near the sign is "been to"...they aren't a library...you don't have to get out and lick it...

18 - 20 depending on how strictly you enforce the "been by" rule.

Driving by doesn’t count. You have to at least get out of the car. You don’t have to go up in it, but you can’t be peeping it from the interstate. Same as the Statue of Liberty. I’ve seen it from Battery Park, but that doesn’t count.
I had 15.

15 as well. Statue of Liberty was closed when I was there, but did get a harbor tour that featured it. But no, I didn't count that one.

How many of yinz have been to Fort Sumter?

Space needle... something about the structure up top that gave me really bad vertigo. Think it's the angle of the windows up there or something.

I've been there. My uncle was in the Navy in Charleston, met his wife there and got married nearby.

18 for me. Things like the Statue of Liberty, Washington Monument, I only walked by and didn't pay the tourist tax to go inside. Also never was inside the White House or touched the Hollywood sign, but don't think those would be prerequisites.

The two I'm talking about are the Hollywood sign and Alcatraz. I've never actually been to either of them, but they aren't exactly drive-bys either.

I think it would be neat to do a similar list for global sights.

I keep reading Alcatraz and am like, wtf are you people reading?

*clicks tweet*

Oh. Make it 20 for me then. I could have crossed off Alamo and River Walk this past April, but was told San Antonio is basically those two things and nothing else.

I don't know about going there as a destination, but I went there for a conference and really enjoyed San Antonio.

Anyone ever do the discount Tuesday at AMC theaters? Is it a decent deal. Or is it just like cheap popcorn.
