Don’t know where else to put this but I’m proud.
Last April I was 294lbs.
I figured out I had a gluten intolerance and also started to diet pretty hard. Very very limited intake of wheat products which eliminates a ton.
Now, this April, I’m 248lbs. My goal is 230lbs.
I’m pretty happy with myself.

@Shyster Mr. Trash banana consumer.
I recently purchased two boxes (8 per box) of Entenmanns devils food crumb chocolate donuts. After eating the first box, four days later I noticed small ants inside the box on the donuts. Are they still safe to eat?

Well, they aren't killing the ants, so knock yourself out.
A big difference between a donut and a banana is that the banana comes with a thick, natural wrapper that is disposed of before eating and which protects the edible interior from any contaminants. For example, how many of you have ever bothered to wash off the outside of a banana before peeling and eating it? I mean, it could have all sorts of dirt on filth on there from the growing, picking, and transporting. Maybe a parrot or something pooped right on it in the field? None of us wash it because we all know that the peel protects the inside, and we don't eat the peel.
Nothing wrong with a trash banana.

Yeah, it took me a few seconds to process what might be happening. I just sort of stared at Dupuis for a second as we both tried to process what was happening...
He was acting outside of his normal pattern this morning, maybe just a coincidence. But normally he's asleep under the bed from about 9:30 to 11:30 or noon. But not today...he was out and about and walking around...

Have a coworker in Philly who messaged me on teams and said "we just had an earthquake". She is fine, but said it was quite the rumble/shake for 15-30 seconds.

Tif, this is your chance to come in all smug talking about how a 4.8 earthquake wouldn’t even get you out of bed.

Yeah, it was a 4.8 magnitude apparently...which isn't nothing (tif commentary pending). Seems like stuff is generally ok around here...

Was just reading that east coast earthquakes are more powerful at a given magnitude because the rock is older and more compact.
Put another way, tif quakes are kiddie quakes.

I only specifically remember being in one, in like 2007 when I was in NY. I didn’t feel this one, though I was on a work call with people in NJ who felt it live. 15 seconds feels like a long earthquake compared to the previous one I had felt

Wasn’t there also an earthquake in Taiwan a couple days ago?

'Smug' is such a strong word.
A couple years ago we had two of about that magnitude hit on consecutive days at around the same time of day. The water in the pool sloshed around, stuff fell over on shelves. It has only been as we were preparing for the bathroom reno that we realized it caused several cracks in the drywall around door jams. (Don't seek safety in a doorway; that's what engineers call a 'crumple zone'. Find something quasi-structural like a kitchen island (if you have one) or a built-in shelf with a counter that combines a vertical surface with a flat one; it creates an area where debris can pile/stack up and leave this little triangle of safety underneath.)
Depending on where you are relative to the center and how deep the fault is, 4.8 could be no joke, esp if the whole shaky-shaky+rumble thing is new to you.
Northridge is like the Battle of Yavin for telling time here - after the Northridge Earthquake, and Before the Northridge Earthquake. I moved here 3 ANE, Mrs Tif moved here 1 BNE. She was launched out of her bed and flew across her room and smacked into an armoire.

When I first looked at at this on my phone I didn't see the picture full-size, and couldn't see the little yellow blotch. So I was like "Is Bhutan actually on this map?" Cost that would've been awkward.

Was joke.
Worst I was in was a 5.4 which felt like my apartment complex was going to collapse.
