Wife and I were just talking about this. Both of our plates are peeling and we had no idea how to fix. Just saw this on WTAE. Not sure if any of you have peeling plates, but you have to fill out a form and either of an officer or a person that completes state inspections sign off to mail in for a new plate.

If you don't get it fixed, you can get pulled over and issued a $100 fine.
Make better plates, dodints.

I swear, Ohio issues a new plate design every few weeks. I bet mine's 18 years old and it's graying but hasn't peeled.

Woke up to no water today. That was fun. Pipe froze at the water pit at the pressure control section. Ran a bunch of insulation over top the pipes before covering the pit back up. Contractors didn't bury it deep enough. :face:

I was helping someone sort out some estate concerns (yay, free lawyering). It costs $8,500 to cremate someone. No service, no viewing, just reception and disposal of the body. Seems like a lot but it's not like you can just not do it.
depending on state there are cheaper options but those usually need to be made in advance. when my mom died in 2011, we weren't prepared for it. my parents had determined long ago that they would be cremated and placed in a columbarium at our church. they had NOT pre-paid for anything but the columbarium spots. my mom's funeral which included viewing at funeral home (before cremation), cremation and then funeral service at the church was around $10k. my father lived for 8 more years and due to age and health status, we were more prepared for his. we "joined" our state's Memorial Society years before he died which basically is a discount club for cremations. no viewing for my father but we did everything else and it cost us a fraction of my mom's stuff.

One of the guys on my team at work mentioned that he registered with the VA and is somehow getting his stuff paid for through that. I might look into that. I knew they would pay for head stones but didn't know they would handle the cremation as well.

*edit* I misunderstood him. That's for burial in a VA cemetary.

I think it's been said before, but unless you prepare ahead of time..someone dying suddenly can be a huge hardship. It's expensive to die basically.

My last two employers cover, gratis, a small ($10K) life insurance policy just to cover basic funeral expenses.

Some neighbor that lives further down in the plan from us just stopped me when I was outside getting our trashcans to tell me that we put on a "helluva christmas light display" and he just wanted to tell me how nice it looked haha.

I'm trying to take my kid who is a Lightning fan to the upcoming pens game at end of February. Has anyone used vivid seats before? Is that legit? Anyone have any tips for finding tickets?
