This man is a hero.
“I’m a hired gun,” Mr. Rosenthal said, acknowledging his reputation as the go-to lawyer to get dogs off death row. “If I take a case, it’s about winning. I take it because I believe in it.”

Lexus the greyhound’s case was a turning point for Mr. Rosenthal. After that, he and his wife, Robin Mittasch, founded the Lexus Project in 2009, a nonprofit that provides legal representation for dogs ordered to be euthanized. It turned out there was a market for his services. He soon received a phone call about Luna, a husky ordered to be put down for killing chickens. He was called to Connecticut to defend a golden retriever named Buddy.

Found a ground-hornet nest in my yard after one stung me on the leg while I was mowing. Part 1 of "Operation Death to the Hornets 2022" is now complete with a late-night application of Spectracide Foaming Ground-Nesting Yellowjacket Killer.

Ugh that happened to me a few years back. Was pulling morning glory and one was attached to a nest. Took about 8-10 stings but then decimated it with spectracide. Pretty neat pile of dead yellow jackets for vindication.

Plenty of dead hornets around the entrance today, but there were still some live hornets flying in and out. Will do application #2 tonight.

Tonight is the first night that I can hear crickets and cicadas outside. Fall is definitely coming my friends.

🤮
Brach’s is embracing the flavors of football with its new Tailgate Candy Corn.

The candy comes in five flavors: hamburger, hot dog, popcorn, vanilla ice cream, and fruit punch.

The candy corn will only be sold at participating Walgreens stores until the end of October.

The 11-ounce bags will sell for $3.49 to $3.69, according to a Brach’s spokesperson.

A 2021 survey of the top states in candy corn consumption found California, Texas, and Florida in the top three.

It'd be nice to actually get a fall this year. It feels like we've gone straight from summer to winter the last couple years.

Fall is my favorite season. Jacket weather, brisk mornings, football and hockey, halloween. What's not to like?
