I have a friend who's sister is all in on these oils and stuff. She routinely tries to get people to by the products and refuses to even consider it's a scam.

She just paid a bunch of money to go celebrate at some arena with her other cohorts and praise in the glory of essential oils.
My friend's wife hawks this crap. She tried to get me to buy some. I wanted to say "No, I don't buy garbage pushed under the guise of healing oils", but instead I just politely declined.

I witnessed the Pittsburgh Police conducting what looked like a military ambush in order to arrest two robbery suspects in Frick Park last night. Walking up the path, I saw about six cops huddling together, then noticed that they were looking at two dudes a good bit behind me on the path, I stopped to see what was going on and was shooed away. But it was the park, there were probably another 5-10 people still between the cops and the perps. So I found an overlook and watched, in that ~5 minute period, there were another dozen cops that showed up and about 15 police vehicles either around the entrance to the park or ones that drove inside.

Takeaway, if you think you can jack a convenience store then escape into Frick to try and blend in. Not going to work.

I was surprised that the two guys didn't book it and just kept walking casually up the path to the surrounding cops. Maybe they believed the cops didn't have them id'd? I was expecting them to book to the trails. I heard the cops when I first got to where they were waiting near the path being like, "those are guys, one guy with a bag and the other on a phone?"

I hate the preplanned response to people...

This morning at work:
"Hi, c2i"
"Hey, good morning."
"I'm good, and you?"

I go out of my way to not talk to people. If I don't have anything out of small-talk, I'd rather just not have to say anything.

Recently, a group called The Menage Life was attempting to organize the world's largest orgy. 1,000 people registered, but only 375 showed up, which left them far short of the current world record (500, Japan 2006). The attendance shortfall was blamed on two last-minute venue changes that had to be made after Stephen Colbert pointed out exactly where the event was to be held (Embassy Suites, Las Vegas), and the hotel operator got wind of the bookings.

Anyone have a good website for Pennsylvania municipal auctions? In WI they had one central site that listed auctions and items for just about every municipality in the state and it was neatly organized. I doubt PA could agree on something like that but if there is a decent one for SW PA or a particular county around here that would be helpful. I have some federal ones but the listings are generally too far away.

Tangentially, if anyone has info on automobile auctions that allow consumer bidders that would also be nice to have.
