Source of the post Hawaii Oahu is beautiful beach resorts that surround a soft white trash center. They filmed Dog the Bounty Hunter there for a reason.

Went to a fire last night with some friends and half of us got sick overnight. Bad pizza. Ugh

There are a lot of Simpsons nuts here, so I'll give it a try...

In Bart vs Australia, Bart makes a bunch of calls to the Southern Hemisphere and in one scene there is a man floating on top of a house through a sea of lava...he goes to answer a pay phone that he's floating by and falls in and dies...

What is that referencing? It's bothered me for like 25 years and I just can't figure it out...

Watched this for about ten minutes while my wife was in Children's Place the other night. Mesmerizing.

Re the Simpsons thing

Isn't that scene part of like a montage where Bart is trying to find out if the toilets flush backwards in the southern hemisphere, and they just show a collection of stereotypical vingettes (e.g. frozen toilet water in Antarctica) to set the scene? There's like a really expensive collect call to Australia and "kicking boots" involved.

I think I only use the term “woman” for someone older than me. Feels weird using it for a coworker my age, for example.

The term “guy” exists when “man” seems weird. We don’t have an equivalent in the other direction so we’re stuck with “girl”…which also feels weird.

You don't ever want to refer to anyone over 18 as a girl in a professional setting. That would really set some woman off.

Considering I'm now old enough for women my age to be grandmothers without anyone having been pregnant as a teenager, I don't think the "women are older than me" thing would work for me.

I never have the need to use either label at work, somehow. It’s mostly in a “this girl at work…” anecdote thing for Mrs S.

But yes. No doi.

And Mrs. S doesn't object to you using that term?
