BUMBLE SMASH.

Image

Put our lights below. 1700 super bright led lights in total. Took several hours to make it all work and look half decent. It's also as bright as the sun and makes it daylight even at night outside haha.

Edit: Fixed Links to pictures.

They don't show up for me? I applaud your effort, though. I used to do a crazy number of lights, but I'm done with that now. My street has a nice variety of everything.

That's what I get for trying to post them from my phone haha. I went back and fixed the links, and even fixed the post you quoted above. Can you see them now?

I just noticed from the pictures that the 103 on top of the front door is not centered and it's going to drive me nuts.

We have a few inflatables along with the lights because our daughter loves seeing them. That said, I completely agree that the people who fill their yards with them? Come on man.

We saw what must have been a 15, maybe 20 ft Santa and snowman inflatable yesterday. If you're going to go inflatables, this is the standard.

I haven't been able to find any of the 20+ ft. inflatables. Our Bumble is 12' tall, and the snowman is just under 8'. I passed on one of those snowman laying on his side years ago, and he was 25' long. I still regret not buying it.

Most inflatables I have seen are laying on their side.

I wanted a giant T. rex inflatable wearing a Santa hat and coat holding a present for our front yard. It was vetoed.

I wanted to get the AT-AT inflatable a few years ago, but the wife/CFO vetoed it.

I dislike light projectors, which seem to be all the rage here for the last few years. We call them Christmas measles projectors.

I have a few projectors, mostly for Halloween, and only like one of them. Most of them are simply too dim.

I think the christmas light projector things look really tacky and bad. I know not everyone can put up lights I get it, but those just look bad.

Speaking of, you went with gutter clips for yours, didn't you? How'd they work out?

We have gutter guards on our gutters so I couldn't use traditional clips. The guards that are on them are metal, but the top of the guards have tiny little holes on them to let water in etc....so I bought a pack of the below from amazon and they worked out great. They were just small enough to go in the hole of the gutter guard and then allow lights to be clipped on them.

I wouldn’t put up our lights without them. The OCD in me requires a nice straight evenly spaced setup.

And the laser lights are referred to as Lazy Lights around here. Don’t care for them at all.

The laser lights should be a supplemental feature to fill in dead spots, carefully chosen. My in-laws used it as their only decoration and it came across as pretty lame, yeah.

This is how we use them.

There is a deer in our neighborhood that we often see hanging out in our backyard, most of the time just passing through. It's a weird sight in the city. Today, I noticed he was limping, not putting any weight on his front leg. Now he's lying down in the corner of the yard. I've never seen a deer lay down before... As somebody who has zero experience with deer and doesn't hunt, what should I be doing? My initial thought is to just let him chill. He'll move on when he's ready. My fiance wants to call animal control and see if they can help him but I have a strange feeling that there is no such thing as an adult deer rescue habitat.

Definitely observe...if he's still there tomorrow, call.

Deer definitely lay down, especially when I'm looking for them. But the limp might point to there being other reasons - I'd second shads thoughts

If you've already observed it is injured, I'd call animal control today. Or if you don't want to go that route, see if there are private animal rescue organizations that can come out.

Can't remember where people were talking about mattresses, but these are the best winter sheets I've ever had. Kinda tough to get king size because they sell out pretty fast, but they are incredible. I also have the robe and throw blanket. We have 3 pairs of the sheets and just rotate through them
