I visited a salt mine near Cracow a few years ago and it turned out the only way back up was a tiny elevator that was meant to carry 8 passengers. I was first in and when the 6th person got on and the elevator was already cramped, I simply said "let me out" (I was with friends and they wisely obliged immediately). Luckily, I wasn't the first visitor with this problem, and after briefly contemplating what it would be like to spend the rest of my life in a salt mine, I was allowed to take an elevator up with just three persons on board (a guide and an equally claustrophobic Asian lady).

I don't mind flying, though. You're basically indoors, right? Yeah, it's not rational.
I went to one in Salzburg. There was a section where you took a boat across an underground lake. The ceiling went from maybe 50 feet overhead to I had to crouch down so my head didn't hit it. I'm not claustrophobic but holy **** I did not feel OK right then.

A lot of the art world thinks it's a John McCracken piece...

Secretly, I can't believe a name like John McCracken wasn't used as a 1970's TV detective who plays by his own rules...

Yeah, that floor got me good. Was acting tough and pretending it wasn't going to bother me, as soon as I got to the threshold my legs stopped moving and I almost tripped and fell onto it.
My kids were jumping up and down on it, and while I had read up on it and knew it was actually stronger than a regular floor and could hold like 36 buffalos or something like that.... ok come on guys, we gotta go.
Yup...the glass floor did not bother me at all, but as soon as I saw little shts jumping up and down on it I made a beeline for solid ground.

Watching them jump up and down in unison this is all I could think of:

Thought I'd be able to get through Black Friday/Cyber Monday without spending any money, yet after weeks of just total **** sleep, I'm probably going to buy a new Tempurpedic mattress later today.

We’ve gone through five mattresses in 8 years and the tempurpedic was the worst.

We loved ours, it was just time to replace it. Wound up buying another (different model), as we didn’t like the other alternatives.

Thinking about one of them purple mattresses. I've had a Select Comfort for 14 years now and it's the best bed I've ever had. It's definitely time for a new one though.

The Purple was much softer than the tempurpedic, if that’s what you’re into. Didn’t really have a lot of support. They carry them at Mattress Firm if you wanted to try it in person.

We recently got an Awara and to date it’s been my favorite of our string of mattresses.

We have 120 days to see how we like it, but given that we’ve already owned one, I’m assuming that we’ll like this one long-term, as well. If we don’t, I have no idea what direction we’ll look. I didn’t really like the Beautyrest Black X, and the other foam mattresses were just too soft.

How was the temperature with purple? Did it stay cool?

I find tempurpedic to be very firm so if that's your preference then purple may be good for us.

We only tried it in the store, so there was no way for us to tell long term. I did see a cut out of the Purple mattress, which is basically a honeycomb. I imagine it does okay in terms of staying cool.
