There's no context for this. Just something that randomly popped into my head the other night watching TV with Mrs Tif. We both agree which one it is, just curious if there's a 5AF consensus.

See, we both agreed that the second one is far more creepy. Putting anything in quotes like that makes it a euphemism. The more things you air-quote, the more generalized the assertion. Putting a single word in quotes means the stuff not in quotes is literal..... so what is your 'apartment', and what does cleaning it entail??
