I have killed about a dozen spotted lanternflies this week, and all of them have been on my front door.
Hell yes!! Just remember, each female can lay 60 eggs, so the stomping helps. I find that anytime I'm walking outside I'm constantly searching for lanternflies to kill. They make stink bugs seem like child's play in terms of invasiveness and destruction.

Actually, we've had more stink bugs come in our house this fall than we did the last few years combined.

Shocking WPIAL Football result tonight as Aliquippa mercy ruled at home by Central Valley, 42-6.

They had won 56 of 57 at home.

It amazes me that waves can get to be that huge, that close to shore and not just **** everything up.

Either that or they make it look like the waves are closer to shore than they actually are.

Definitely some camera tricks being used, no doubt. It's also the shape of the beach/where the waves are breaking. It looks like they break way out there. The camera makes it look close but wouldn't be surprised if it was at least a quarter mile out.

Not to mention that a 115 foot wave would absolutely smash the closest record by a loooooong stretch. The tallest wave ever surfed was 78 feet, also in Portugal. The reason why the waves get like that in that localized area is due to an underwater canyon just offshore.

fwiw, that lighthouse is on a cliff above Nazaré and I'm sure there is some wide-angle stuff going on. Still, the area is famous for those waves, thanks to some underwater canyon or whatever. Don't ask me, not a geologist.

i think there's some underground canyon helping make those big waves

Likely the opposite, since it's the reefs, etc. that causes the break.

Nazaré is a canyon break; the shelf comes up from like 15,000' or something, and the falls are around 100 meters offshore iirc, but the wake carries all the way into the rocks at the base of that lighthouse.

Used to work with a guy who was a big surfer bro, and he'd make me watch Surfline videos from a variety of famous breaks around the world all the time, and he'd get all hyped up; it was actually kinda fun, even though I wasn't into it that much.

If there's an "empty" domain...what is the term? Parked? Where just like GoDaddy owns it but doesn't do **** with it...what's like the protocol for trying to initiate a conversation to buy that...? Anyone with experience...?

Just find a hosting provider that you're interested in using and you can basically register any domain that's available. GoDaddy's one of the more recognized ones, but there are many others.

Looks like your domain is available: https://www.godaddy.com/domainsearch/fi ... desFTW.com

Usually when a domain is parked, unused, and for sale there is a link right on the page to ask about buying it.

But like NTP66 said, you can just go to godaddy and attempt to register it, and if they do own it they will tell you what it costs to buy it.

I am moving away from GoDaddy and try to use Google Domains when I can.

Damn....clicked through to that link above and was curious what it would say if I plugged in a domain I owned. Tossed one in and it came back available, whoops. Turns out I never registered it.
