Anyone here work in or with marketing...? Or know what goes into naming a product?
We're creating a proprietary software, anyone go through the naming/branding of a product process?

I have. Our latest release is actually a name that I came up with. There are two main approaches: a name that has something to do with the product or just a made up thing. We went with the latter. Branding is much tougher when the name implies something about the product.Anyone here work in or with marketing...? Or know what goes into naming a product?

ffs... I haven't played fantasy football in about 8-9 years. The new guy at work really wants to join the work league, but that would make it an odd number of people, so to help him out, I joined to make it even. Draft is tonight. I don't know anyone who plays in this damn league anymore. Roll tide.

Use this as an opportunity to pick your roster based upon odd things, like syllables in the last name or jersey color. See how well you do.ffs... I haven't played fantasy football in about 8-9 years. There are also going to be trademark concerns, conflict/risk analysis, etc. Coming up with a nonsense name will likely be easier to trademark. If you invent 'Verizon', chances are there won't be any existing conflicts.I have. Our latest release is actually a name that I came up with. Luckily for me, a few people were dicks about it and didn't want to add two people to the league. They claimed that they had prepared a draft strategy based on 10 people, and 12 would throw everything off. If they're that serious about it, I don't want to be playing anyways. I feel bad for the new guy though. This would have given him a chance to get in with a decent group in the company and talk about things other than work.

Nah. I wanted nothing to do with it. I don't even watch much NFL anymore. I just think it's sh*tty that someone really wanted to play and people claimed that going from 10 to 12 people in the league would throw off their draft strategy, so he wasn't allowed to join.

It takes about 3-5 picks in a FF draft before everyone's strategy is thrown out the window anyway. Those are shitty people.
A better argument is that there isn't enough talent in the NFL to support a 12 team league, draft order really becomes important the more teams you add.

I'm in a 14 team league. It's fun. Mostly because I won the last 2 years

nothing is more self fulfilling then spending time trying to figure out which backup tight end to pick up when your starting TE is on a bye week.

bought a slanted/vertical mouse because my wrist has been bothering me. Feels like a total foreign concept when I actually use it.

Zesty Blood Orange Diet Coke tastes like burnt dadholes distilled in dip spit.
