That's an opportunity lost imo. Run with it. Mate a Shakespeare joke when calling the order up. Have fun.

One winner...geez.
I was talking to my wife last night..I would love to win like $5 million or something (one of the smaller, less publicized jackpots), but would not like to be a historical winner like this. I'd be living in fear/paranoia the rest of my life about someone going after my family, old acquaintances coming out of the woodwork, etc.

Many states you can, but it's not like you would be able to keep it much of a secret in practicality.I think you can claim anonymously in PA.

True, but what would you even do with the lump some of ~$900 million? I agree with you, I'd prefer to win a smaller one. Many states you can, but it's not like you would be able to keep it much of a secret in practicality.I think you can claim anonymously in PA.

I've set my jackpot max at $2 million. That's enough to give some away to family, put away in a nest egg, pay off the house, buy a nice car or two (nothing too crazy), take family on an extravagant vacation, and work as a golf pro greens keeper the rest of my life. One winner...geez.

Blind trust > blind trust > your own trust > your account. Pretty sure it can't be tracked that way.
I'd still work. Maybe not on the same schedule. Maybe request part-time status. Buy a modest house, maybe a couple personal things (guitar that is currently unaffordable, etc), and save/invest.

I would take $10 mil, but other than that I agree with you. I have zero desire to win more than that. All that money is nothing but trouble. Just want enough to pay everything off, retire from work (but do volunteer work) and travel a bit. Don't need a house, expensive car, anything like that.I've set my jackpot max at $2 million. That's enough to give some away to family, put away in a nest egg, pay off the house, buy a nice car or two (nothing too crazy), take family on an extravagant vacation, and work as a golf pro greens keeper the rest of my life. One winner...geez.

I like to think I wouldn't change much, but a lump sum of $900 million I'd live like a complete dadhole.

i agree with this. the comments that people are making are if you won 9 million, not 900 million. thats different level **** where doors open up and you can do things that we cant even comprehend right nowI like to think I wouldn't change much, but a lump sum of $900 million I'd live like a complete dadhole.

Basically if I made 3% off of investing, and only lived off that, a $20 mil jackpot is enough to live comfortably and not have to work, and still have $20m for the kids to inherit.
My wife and I were talking about what we'd do.
Sure a car, pay off house, probably pay somebody to finish the basement instead doing it myself.
So then you have the freedom to do whatever you want. We'd play a lot more golf, but I remarked that I don't know what I'd do with myself.
My wife of pure heart answers, "We could spend a lot more time volunteering in the community." What a keeper.

Yeah but at the same time 9 million is still a shtload of money to most of the people on this board, I would think. I sure as heck wouldn't be working, 9 million is more than enough to live on the rest of my days.i agree with this. the comments that people are making are if you won 9 million, not 900 million. thats different level **** where doors open up and you can do things that we cant even comprehend right nowI like to think I wouldn't change much, but a lump sum of $900 million I'd live like a complete dadhole.

I just want to live comfortably. I don't care about houses, cars, jewelry or any of the other crap people who win the lottery blow their money on. I don't need 900 million.

With $900m, which is really $540m after Uncle Sam gets his cut, I'd turn into a doomsday prepper.
Farm in the middle of nowhere, fallout shelter. I mean, really, what's the absolute worst and prepare for that.
Shiny objects are great, but there's only so many days in a week to use them, and I absolutely would want my children to lead a normal life. So then it goes to how can you protect your family for the worst or the long term. If society breaks down, if the country folds, nuclear accident, etc.
And then I'd follow through with my smaller jackpot plan in my everyday life, knowing I had the double secret bunker to fall back on if the plague or something hit.

Yes. I could put half away and still have 450 effing million dollars to throw around. I'd belong to every sweet country club in the country and fly my private plane to each one when i felt like golfing therei agree with this. the comments that people are making are if you won 9 million, not 900 million. thats different level **** where doors open up and you can do things that we cant even comprehend right nowI like to think I wouldn't change much, but a lump sum of $900 million I'd live like a complete dadhole.
