My Ffrench press (H2P) has the instructions printed right on it. No need for fancy schmancy electronic tubes.

I use an electric tea kettle to heat up the water. I turn it off as soon as it starts to boil, then let it sit for a couple minutes. If it's too hot, your coffee will taste a little burnt. If it's too cold...well I don't know. Since you can also cold brew your coffee in the fridge for 24 hours, I'm guessing the cooler the water, the longer it takes to draw out the flavor.

You coffee drinkers estimate your temperatures? Peasants. As a superior tea drinker, I use a Zojirushi water heater/boiler to get the appropriate temperature for my tea.

How do people with one arm put deodorant under their fully intact arm?
One of those plug in air fresheners that shoots poison or whatever out every 15 minutes...?

Hey now. Over 96% of the teeth in my mouth are real. And they are spectacular.

Second day back - I'm sitting next to some Indian folk who smell mighty natural today.
It's funny how the Indian food smell is stigmatized but I really don't mind if people are ripe with essence of curry. I like Indian food and think it smells super. If you sit next to me smelling like a charcoal grill, I'll be equally delighted.
In my experience it's not an Indian food smell. More of an Indian dude smell.

I'm not sure if it's a cultural thing (everyone living on top of each other, and they get used to it) or what. I'm inclined to think it is, because I have a couple Indian friends that went to college here and work here, and there's never any trace of it. And they eat plenty of curry.

It depends on the individual... There were 3 indian people in my lab in grad school, all three from Calcutta. One you'd never notice an odor, one was constantly over perfumed, and one always had terrible b.o. mixed with onions. It was weird.

My mom has been in the hospital since last week with congestive heart failure. Today they are doing a heart catherization. I know it's a pretty simple procedure to try to find out what is going on etc, but it still worries me. She drives me nuts sometimes but she is still my mom.

Thanks for the thoughts all. She actually just called me. They did the procedure early this morning. They didn't find anything out of the ordinary. So no stents or anything right now. She is in recovery and probably will be the rest of the day. I was more worried about her laying flat on her back as when she does that she tends to get short of breath even with oxygen. So now just waiting for what the doctor thinks it he next best step. She needs to take better care of herself either way, but I can't do that for her. I do what I can if when I buy her groceries and stuff, but alot of her medical stuff is worsened by how she eats and doesn't get up and move.(She retains water alot even with water pills, had high blood pressure, diabetes etc). She needs to follow the low sodium diet but she never does and it causes water to build up then she cant move with out her legs hurting or getting short of breath.

I guess the procedure itself only takes about 30-45 minutes. Run a tube up through your groin or arm to your heart to check for issues or blockages. If there are blockages then they can do stents or other things. Either way.. I guess this is kind of good news and just wait to see what the next step is.

@skullman80

Glad there were no blockages.

It does sound like she needs to take better care of herself. But as you said, you can only do so much for her to get her on the right path.

My dad had 7 bypasses and 2 stents (after 2 of the arteries became blocked again), but actually lived 23 years after all that because he took very good care of himself.

And then he ended up dying of mesothelioma.

My mom went through a catheterization (with a stent) a couple years ago. It can be nerve wracking, but ultimately it's a good thing.

And I apparently slept through a 4.4 earthquake that was centered like five miles from my house.
