Was helping a buddy and his family move this weekend after they sold their house. Got to my place at 12:15, going to be a slow Monday.

The outrage over Michael Phelps not actually racing a shark is delightful.
So, Gutteridge said, instead of Phelps and a shark swimming side by side, the scientists would use the speed data they obtained to create a computer-generated image of a shark racing. And Phelps would compete against that.
You don't say.

Not sure what's real life or parody anymore but NatGeo is doing their own shark week now and they had a promo with Lochte. Hope he gets eaten.

And it looks horrible, even in comparison. I was hoping that Phelps would wind up getting bit by a CGI white shark, at the very least. Of the dozens of Shark Week episodes this year, I think I only scheduled 4 to record.

I just can't believe that USA Swimming produced two swimmers that I'd want to see bitten in half by a shark. What are the odds?

Almost zero, considering I've usually forgotten of or never heard of Summer Olympics athletes for the four weeks per decade they are ostensibly relevant...

So it's like the Ghost racer in Mario Kart. Cool.

Is there any way to set up alerts for price drops at various websites? I need to buy a flooring nailer and air compressor but it's no rush as it's for a winter project. I was hoping to wait for potential price drops at Lowes or Amazon, but I know if it comes down to manually checking prices every day, I'll forget. Are there any automated solutions?

My daughter wanted to watch last night. Within the first five or so minutes of a 66 minute show, they say that Phelps topped out at 5.5-6 mph during his WR setting swim. Then mentioned that a great white can hit 26 mph. I hit record and told her she could watch the rest when I'm not home since they already told me that info and it was clear who would win.

I use https://camelcamelcamel.com/ for Amazon, and it works like a charm.

I watched it fully expecting the shark to win. I was interested in what they had Phelps do to try to shave time and how they measured the speed of various sharks. That was more interesting than the stupid race.

After 32 years, Microsoft is killing off MS Paint in the Fall Creators Update release. Paint 3D will remain, which is actually kinda neat, but I'll miss Paint. That was the very first drawing application that I ever used when I was a kid, and I spent countless hours drawing stuff in it (namely cars). I wish I could find the 3.5" floppies that I saved all of my artwork to.

Not a way to check for price drops, but I've gotten my last several tools at Harbor Freight pretty cheaply. It's a lot cheaper than Lowes or Home Depot. Last summer, I got a nail gun and compressor there for ~$70. I doubt it would be powerful enough or hold up well enough for a professional using it day-in/day-out, but it was perfectly fine for putting in baseboard and quarter round throughout our 1700 square foot house.
