Threads is in the phase where Apple computers were 15+ yrs ago. You almost never heard of viruses and other malware attacks targeting Mac users, and Apple liked to claim it was because their entire ecosystem was so inherently safe and secure. The truth is, at the time they represented around 8% of the world's personal computers; it wasn't worth the time or effort by malware-ists to go after Apple users because there were so few of them (relatively), not because it was so hard to do. That market share is now roughly double what it was then (after spending many many years in the sub-10% space), and - surprise - malware is more common. (I think just recently Mac OS had something like a 400+% YOY increase in malware incidents)
Threads is kind of in that boat wrt bots. 130 million MAU is nothing to sneeze at, but it's still only around a quarter of Xwitter. So Threads is kind of teetering on the fringe of worth-the-effort territory. There are certainly bots, and in increasing number. But the effort-to-reward still favors Xwitter as a platform.

I actually like Threads, tbh. It's relatively simple, but the content sucks.
I am dying for another X replacement - or something to latch on. Right now there are too many.

I'm late, but monetizing influencers on Twitter has hurt "community" even more. Idiot says idiot thing to provoke outrage and engagement, but then counter-minded people don't call it out because that increases Idiot troll's engagement as well. People build even taller silos as folks who feel similarly to troll go "see, nobody disagrees with idiot take so it must be right."
Also, spam is up a trillion % after Elon. Every day another random scantily clad woman follows me or a crypto-dude has said I've won a contest. It's just such a bad experience.

AI isn't gonna help with spamming either. You can get thousands of examples of content with one person running an AI tool. I'm starting to notice it on Facebook (I only use facebook for events). Just a ton of AI generated ads/pages

I recently read that it is common in Pittsburgh to eat sliced bananas in a bowl with milk and sugar and no cereal. Is this really a thing?

Not that I've ever seen.

my grandfather did that, yes

Yeah, I think my grandpa and grandma would also include strawberries too? Very vague memory of that.

Yeah, I have memories of my grandparents doing that, but not since I was a little kid. They'd also add whatever fruit was in season at the time to go along with the banana slices.

No one puts milk in a fruit salad...not anyone who deserves to live, at least...
Randomness Dos
Well, thicken the milk and you have a parfait. There are plenty of fruit-salad recipes that use custards, whipped cream, condensed milk, etc.

I never had milk and bananas. I did have strawberries & cream at Wimbledon and not only was it delicious but I felt very fancy.

What’s going on with Reddit? Every other post is removed by mods. You can’t tell if it’s been removed but it forces you to go to the specific sub if you touch on a picture. It’s further making the site unusable.
