I'm thinking a new operator spends most of the first week throwing up from motion sickness. I know I would be.

Love me some hot pockets...

A man in Louisville, Kentucky, is facing an assault charge after shooting his roommate “in the ass” during a fight about eating their last Hot Pocket, officials said.

Clifton Williams got angry Saturday “and began throwing tiles” at his roommate after the roommate ate the last Hot Pocket, the victim told police, according to a court citation.

The roommate said he tried to fight back before telling Williams he was leaving, the citation said.

As the roommate was leaving, “Mr. Williams went inside the residence and got a gun,” the victim told investigators. Williams then shot his roommate “in the ass while he was trying to leave,” according to the citation.

Came across this today and thought it was pretty neat.

This is amazing stuff, the bit in the BBC report where the bow section was plonked down virtually into the soccer stadium is a real eye opener.
Image
It's one thing to know she was once the largest moving object built by man, it's another to it graphically presented like that.

But with all that amazing photogrammetry............. there's still no visible evidence of the iceberg damage. There's a good 150 feet of hull plating that's below what was the ship's waterline down to the bilge keel along the sea bed, and there's no sign of anything that can't be put down to the impact from the ship hitting the bottom of the ocean. (There has been a theory out for a while that the ship actually grounded on the iceberg, and that at least some of the damage was actually to the keel plating. That would partially explain why what's been uncovered so far - through sonar scans into the muck - only shows about 12 sq feet of damage.)

Another data breach, another settlement, and another year of free credit monitoring (only on one bureau, though). I think I've had some sort of free credit monitoring for the last decade thanks to these, which is not good.

Went to dinner tonight at a new restaurant in our area, and saw that they charge a credit card fee (3.5%). First time I’ve ever seen that before. Food was decent, but overpriced, so we likely won’t return.
Parents went to a local place for dinner last night and also noticed that they charged a 3.5% fee for paying with a card. Guess some of these places want to completely offset CC charges to the customers. **** 'em.

I feel like this is a COVID thing. These places took credit cards before and rarely had a fee. It drives me nuts because how bout charge normal but give a cash discount. How bout instead of charging me a convenience fee, because that is what this is, you give me an option for an inconvenience discount.

Like I said, this has been very widespread down here since 2020. I think that's when the processing charge changed. It's almost at the point where there are more places adding the fee than not. Still not going to carry cash though.

As I'm farting around getting ready for my brother in law's wedding, I'm at a complete loss as to why women who look pretty damn good on a daily basis somehow think professionally applied makeup worthy of a clown and fake lashes that could be used as a half pipe make them look anything but ridiculous.

I don’t understand the eyelashes. I don’t recall back when I was dating wishing any eligible females would step up their eyelash game. I do now think- wow that looks silly.

But yeah, it’s not 50 something fat balding married guys they are trying to impress so it doesn’t matter what I think.

I’ve never articulated it before but I agree a trillion percent

my sisters and sisters in law are all beautiful but all of them had ballet recital amounts of makeup applied to them and it’s really unflattering. Also it’s probably a thousand dollars

I don’t think it’s this at all. I think they want to look good for everyone, not only women (or only men). But that doesn’t mean that they don’t get wayyy too much makeup applied.

Of course some amount of makeup is good as that’s what most women like and are used to but bridal makeup in particular feels like it’s always overboard

makeup is a bell curve. There’s a certain point in the amount applied where it enhances beauty but more than that and it takes away from beauty

I asked my wife about the eyelashes. She said they make your eyes look more open in pictures. I'm not sure I buy it but maybe there's a reason.

@AuthorTony: Welp, I pulled the trigger on a mint RX100 VII on eBay at $811. Once I get it, I guess I’ll be using it to take photos of my old gear that I’ll be listing. Isn’t there a well known (ironic me asking this) website that photographers use to unload their gear? I’m willing to give other sites a shot to avoid eBay’s fees.
