Can this be Bedford and Somerset, because the two counties really are inbred cousins.

This was a lead story the Somerset newspaper the other day:

Somerset Borough police responded to a residence along Musselman Avenue April 22 for a report of stolen marijuana.

Charles Bookheimer III, 65, told police that someone had broke his apartment window in order to steal a quarter-ounce of marijuana from the residence.

Police said Bookheimer was visibly intoxicated. Police instructed him to report the broken window when he was sober.

32 YEAR OLD BRIAN STAIR OF ROARING SPRING & 49 YEAR OLD RUSSELL ONEAL OF HOPEWELL WERE BOTH CHARGED FOLLOWING A PHYSICAL FIGHT AT THE LISTED LOCATION. THE TWO GOT INTO AN ARGUMENT AND STAIR APPROACHED ONEAL WITH A BAYONET IN HIS HAND. ONEAL WAS ABLE TO GET THE WEAPON AWAY FROM STAIR. BOTH CONTINUED TO FIGHT ON THE ROADWAY.

The Somerset Daily American recently ran an article about some home robberies and a dog being killed and felt the need to include this factoid.

A neighbor said they saw a black male in the area wearing a bandana on his head with a hat, a white T-shirt and blue jeans sometime between 2:30 and 5:44 p.m.

That's all it said. Not that this black male did anything suspicious or was seen entering the house or anything like that. Apparently simply being a black male in the vicinity of a robbery within a 3 hour time frame is enough to make you a suspect in Somerset County.

Somerset County... aka God's country.... aka Shad would love it there.

I'm guessing someone hit the caps lock button on accident in 1997 and those backwoods hillbillies have no clue how to turn it off.

BETWEEN 7AM, 05/15 AND 7AM ON 05/16 SOMEONE THREW NAILS IN THE DRIVEWAY OF THE LISTED LOCATION. NO DAMAGED WAS CAUSED, POLICE LISTED 57 YEAR OLD TERRY SAUTER AND 79 YEAR OLD GLENN HINSON AS THE VICTIMS. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL PSP AT 623-6133

THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AS HENRY JAMES NOEL OF BEDFORD GRABBED THE VICTIM AROUND THE HEAD AND PLACED A KNIFE TO HER HEAD AREA THREATENING TO SCALP HER. THE VICTIM WAS ABLE TO FREE HERSELF AND RETURN TO HER RESIDENCE AND CALLED 911. NOEL WAS LOCATED LATER THAT MORNING AND PLACED IN THE BEDFORD COUNTY PRISON IN LIEU OF $150,000 BAIL

49 YEAR OLD MARK ALLEN POTTS WAIVED HIS PRELIMINARY HEARING ON CRIMINAL TRESPASS. POTTS WAS FOUND TO BE HIDING IN THE CLOSET OF AN 89 YEAR OLD BEDFORD WOMAN'S RESIDENCE. ACCORDING TO A POLICE COMPLAINT, THE ELDERLY WOMAN & HER DAUGHTER HEARD A NOISE IN THE UPSTAIRS BEDROOM ON MAY 11,2015, THE DAUGHTER WENT UP TO INVESTIGATE AND FOUND POTTS HIDING IN THE CLOSET. POTTS WAS ARMED WITH A HANDGUN AT THE TIME HE WAS DISCOVERED. POTTS IS IN BEDFORD COUNTY JAIL ON $20,000 BAIL

SOMEONE CUT THE PHONE LINES AND ENTERED THE PHARMACY BY FORCING THEIR WAY IN WITH A CROWBAR. NOTHING WAS TAKEN IN THIS BURGLARY. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL PSP AT 623-6133

First off, why cut the phone lines? Watching too many mission impossible movies? Secondly, if nothing was taken, how is this a burglary?

THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AS 18 YEAR OLD DANIEL LEE WALTON AND 20 YEAR OLD JOSUE PERDOMO ENTERED THE RESIDENCE OF SUSAN KAY THOMAS WITHOUT HER CONSENT. THE SUSPECTS WERE WALKING FROM NORTHERN PA EN-ROUTE TO FLORIDA. THE TWO SUSPECTS SLEPT WHILE THEY WERE THERE AND STOLE BANDAIDS . THEY WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY, ARRAIGNED AND PLACED IN THE BEDFORD COUNTY PRISON
