Just saw that Diontae has no guaranteed money after this year. They should do everything to trade him for a high draft pick this off-season.

OTC shows that a pre-June 1 cut would be $11.67MM in dead cap, $4.67MM in cap savings. Post-June 1 would be $5.83MM and $10.5MM. Same numbers for trades. I'm all over the post-June 1 cut.

Indeed. So if he's cut after June 1 his signing bonus counts against the cap and the rest is freed up because none of it is guaranteed.

The Steelers do understand that with their record at this point in the season, it's not in their best interests to win, right?

They'd just use the higher draft pick on a skill position anyway
