We had a kid free wedding. It was great.

My wedding was probably the last time I will ever have my extended family all together in the same place. I can't imagine excluding children from a family gathering like that.

Just don't bring them on a plane to get there.

Yeah, kid-free weddings would probably be a lot more fun. But it really depends on where you are in the family timeline. We went to tons of weddings in our 20s that were largely kid-free, because none of our friends had many kids. By the time we got married, there were a few more kids around. My brother got married 8 years ago (at 38) and my kids were in his wedding. But it came full circle last year when my cousin - who is in her mid-thirties and doesn't want kids - banned kids from her wedding. Her sister's wedding, a few years before that, had kids and it was one of the best weddings I've ever attended (but her kids couldn't go to their aunt's wedding...)

We didn’t invite kids nor extended family. If you were anything beyond an aunt or uncle, we didn’t invite them. I did have one cousin that was a little upset, but she got over it. It’s your wedding. Do what you want.

With kids. I'm not longer interested in going to weddings and drinking shitty drinks all night and feeling like garbage next day. I go to dance and dance is what I do mother ****.

Tough question. Some kids are a blast at weddings. Some kids are little dadholes at weddings.

This.

Better to be safe than sorry though if you had to pick one...no kids.

I don’t have kids, so that probably changes the dynamic a little, but my sister got married in July and my nieces and nephews were there. It was a blast. Kids can be more fun to hang out with than adults at times

My kids are very good at weddings but I'd much rather go without them so I can get hammered without my wife glaring at me for fatherhood delinquency so I voted no

Unless a social gathering is specifically intended and set up for children, every social gathering is better without children.
