Hey Huggie wake me up with the Big XII has the schedule the Zags voluntarily play OOC every year.

I doubt this will happen. Zags can keep doing what they do, scheduling ridiculous OOC and winning most, then snoozing thru a couple months of travel on the west coast and getting a great seed. Why go to garden spots like Morgantown, Stillwater, Waco, Manhattan (KS), Ames and Lubbock all winter?

(To be fair Lubbock has the best steaks I have ever eaten. But still….)

Immense slate of games tomorrow for opening night, borderline overwhelming. I'm hard pressed to find something that bears watching, though. New coach Kyle Neptune's debut at 'Nova in a Big Five match vs LaSalle? Winthrop's always good, could be a challenge for a nits team that should be to be improved this year.

I'm sure there will be a couple surprises.

Nice win for Zips. Jackrabbits were the popular Cinderella pick last year but PC got em in the first round.

Also their star player transferred to Creighton.

SDSU is a great mid major. Love these kinds of matchups as opposed to the early cupcakes

First big matchup of the season tonight, Zags vs Michigan State. Zags -11.5, even for an anticipated down year for MSU that seems like a big number.

Check the wind since they're playing outside (6-8 mph, shouldn't be too awful).

I get the pageantry of wanting to do something for Veterans Day but why the hell are we doing this AGAIN on an aircraft carrier? We tried this before a few years ago and it went comically bad and we lost 2 really good early-season matchups.

Looked like the aircraft carrier wasn't much of an issue for a change. Good game.

Attended my first game of the year -- Florida State at UCF. A pretty dud game and a little disappointing in that there wasn't more people there with FSU a somewhat name team. So I missed out on that Gonzaga-Sparty game as well as my 2nd team, Temple, finally taking down Villanova. But at least I can watch that 2nd one on replay.

No surprise at all that Izzo outcoached Calipari. Those 2 out of bounds plays at the end of regulation and then overtime were so well scripted. As usual, Kentucky is big on talent but zero on basketball sense. Calipari is a good showman who can recruit but his tactician acumen is severely lacking. Almost like watching a college hoops version of James Franklin.

Louisville, man. 0-3 with losses to Bellarmine, Wright State and App State by 1 point each.

Those teams probably aren’t awful, Bellarmine won the A-Sun, but was tourney ineligible, and Wright St was in the tourney, but still…

FSU not setting the world on fire either with losses to Stetson, UCF and Troy. May not be a great year for the ACC….

When Louisville got blitzed by Lenoir-Rhyne in an exhibition, Cards fans had to know it would be a long season. The loss to Wright St was an embarrassment - had 3 fouls to give but allowed Wright St to get the shot off. Coaching incompetence.

As for FSU, they had injury/suspension issues and then lost another big in the game I attended at UCF on Friday. There is a lot that they do wrong and they have a month before conference season to get it right.

American University, which I attended for one semester in 1992, beat Georgetown 74-70 today. Wonder how long Pat is for the job....

I see only 4-5 wins left on their schedule. It's pretty rough how he's torpedoed that program.

Didn't get a chance to see this game but watched a lot of the Villanova game and the one thing Iowa State is really really good at is defending. Going into Thursday, they were leading the nation in FG% against and when you keep that going, it will make up for a bad offensive night.
