This is pretty on brand for pissbaby junior at this point.

JHC, any "critical thinker" worth a damn would look at the first post and realize it's a colossal bowl of bullshit.
Claim A) Avg IQ of USAF pilot is 120 (source?).
Claim B) "I've seen" figures for commercial pilots between 115-130 (sure you have, again no source)
Claim C) The graduates of the HBCU pilot programs have IQs from 85-90 - but I have a source for that...Extrapolating the scores of the entire University population (rather than program participants) on a different aptitude test (attempting to correlate IQ scores from a test that isn't meant to measure IQ) that is also so full of **** major Universities have stopped using it to determine admissions.

I mean, I guess you can say that calling a transgender woman a man is satire. That suspension did backfire though because most people had no idea what the **** babylon bee was before that.

Black people in the United States have an average IQ score that is one standard deviation below that of white people. Asians have an average IQ score that is one standard deviation higher than white people. Those are the facts. Whether that is reflective of an actual difference in intelligence (as some believe), or reflective of biased or unfair IQ tests (as others believe), or whether IQ is even meaningful as a metric (as yet others believe) are all topics open to debate. But the difference in average scores in not in dispute.

I see her account is not blocked to non-followers. I assume she is now suffering a bad case of butthurt.

The implication here, of course, being that people from HBCU are not fit for being pilots because the average IQ is lower for black people in the united states, AND the only reason that they may become pilots is because of diversity and inclusion initiatives that are giving those positions to black people rather than to white or asians that are better fit for the jobs.

And before you jump in and say "Elon didn't say any of that!!!" Of course not, but what else would he mean when he's saying it'll take a plane crashing and hundreds dying due to pilot incompetence for the "problem" of diversity and inclusion initiatives for airline pilots to stop.

Yes. I agree with him. If underqualified or less-qualified candidates are getting pilot jobs or are getting preferential treatment in applying for pilot jobs for the sake of "diversity," then that's a big problem.

So thus it is totally rational to assume hiring black pilots will cause plane crashes in the future.

I swear, the a+b=c for the people that hate DEI stuff is insane. Because if I know one thing, woke airlines affirmative action hiring black people means that they are hiring unqualified pilots that will definitely cause plane crashes. I am pretty sure Don Jr blamed DEI for some air traffic controller issues as well.

Okay, so yeah, this is some ongoing conservative moron bit. Charlie Kirk did some routine at his Toilet Paper USA event about "Cadillac" and "Ramon" piloting a plane because of affirmative action.

It's not rational to believe that hiring black pilots will cause plane crashes in the future if the hiring process seeks to hire the best candidates regardless of race—that is, a strictly meritocratic hiring process. It is absolutely rational to believe that hiring black pilots will cause plane crashes in the future if the hiring process is not strictly meritocratic and gives preferential treatment on the basis of race. The same concern would apply to any hiring process that gives any sort of preferential treatment to anything other than merit, whether it would be race, gender, sexuality, hair color, or whatever.

"Pilot" is a job where your life is literally in the hands of another person. Do you want that pilot to be the best candidate for the job, or the best black, trans, or [insert oppressed group on the intersectional hierarchy here] person for the job? I'll take the former every time.

What mental gymnastics do you have to do to make the logic leap between "we're offering more of these classes at HBCUs" to "Oh my God they're putting more unqualified pilots in"?

Like, surely you understand that a program doesn't give out wings to everyone that takes it... right?

It’s a job with tangible requirements to qualify.

If airlines are lowering standards, it is 100% because they need to increase the labor pool to manage costs. If you are truly smooth brained enough to think that airlines would lower hiring standards on pilots because of D.E.I. then god help you

Does IQ determine that?

IQ is a well-studied predictor of job performance, particularly for jobs requiring the fast processing of information, so yes, it absolutely does. While individuals will of course vary, smarter people in general will make for better pilots. Just like smarter people generally make for better doctors, accountants, engineers, and other intellectually-demanding jobs. High IQ is not a guarantee of job performance, but it is a valid and reliable predictor for success.

Two of the three HCBUs that United Airlines is working with are among the bottom 2% of all schools in the US in terms of SAT scores. Out of over 6,000 colleges, they are in the bottom 100. Does that mean that no one at those schools is qualified to be a pilot? No. But it makes it much less likely.

Let's say you're hunting deer. Do you want to hunt in the woods, or hunt inside the Ross Park Mall? It's certainly not impossible that there might be a deer in the mall. Maybe one wandered in through an open door. But it's far more likely that you'll find a deer in the woods, because that's where the deer live.
