I ended up parring the hole and had to heckle him a little. At that point I was +4 after 6.

Probably wasn't the best thing to do. I ended up going triple (6), bogey (5), and double (6) on the next three holes. :face:

I feel like that's always a given after you have a good stretch. Always something to drag you back toward your average.

... #6 comes up, which is 538 yards and is the longest hole on the front 9 ...
4H, 4H, 9I thanks...
how far are you hitting your 4 hybrid? My 3H is usually about 190-210 and the 4H might be 180-190
if everything plays out right on that hole, it's usually 1W, 3H, GW

In his case, it was 1W, 8I and still ended up past the hole.

I finally played a round last week (scramble-style) where I only hit one "slice" with my driver, and even at that point, it was more of a fade than a two-fairways-over slice.

I think I finally figured out how far to stand away from what ball at address with my driver, and feel like that was the biggest thing contributing to me losing my swing and slicing during rounds.

it's so weird. I went to a range Thursday, actively tried swinging inside-out to fix the slice and could not for the life of me figure it out

then go out and play 9 holes and drive it perfectly. I'm not gonna complain too much but golf swings are so fragile

My 4H is about 200 off the deck, maybe 210 from the tee.
When I was at my best I'd literally work backwards from the green trying to give myself between 130-160 (PW-8I) to the green because my short iron accuracy was good enough that I'd trade that distance versus my tendency of slicing my driver to hell and gone. I've gotten to play 3 times in the last month and have started to feel that come back and its thrilling. Had two good runs at breaking 40 (Shot 41 and had two balls bounce off a cart path OB one day).

Unfortunately for my golf game the kids come back from my in-laws tomorrow and I might get to play 1 more time this year.

do you guys tee up when using irons/wedges off the tee? vs just setting it on the tee grass

I feel like I get under the ball much more easier when it's teed up and lose some distance. My PW, for example usually goes about 140ish but teed up on par 3s I'm noticeably shorter.

I've been going off the grass, but that might change. I'm probably in my head with this, but it seems like I can play the higher irons (5i-8i) from the ground but if you have me play anything below an 8 without a tee I end up grounding it.

I think at this point the biggest thing for me is as long as I'm in the right position at address, the only way I'm going to slice the ball is if I mess something up in the swing itself, and I feel like I can generally self-diagnose those issues (ex: came in too steep, swing path was wrong, etc). I've taken out ball position as a variable, which goes a long way into keeping things consistent.

I tee up but I usually pick a broken tee and barely have the ball up so it's as close to a perfect lie as possible.

You're probably hitting up on it. I tee it up just a bit to catch it clean but you still need to have the same swing coming down on it with an iron

This. I 'm just getting that perfect lie with no grass friction. Probably worth a good 6" in length in reality but in my head its 10 yds and we all know that's where golf is played.

It's not so much the distance but you're taking any randomness of the flight because of the lie out of the equation and adding some spin

Has anyone played one of the local municipal courses recently (North Park or South Park) and know whether or not you need to book a tee time with them due to the current world situation?

So Bryson blasted a drive into the trees and then tries to claim the ball is sitting on a fire ant nest to get a free drop to a better spot? I can't wait to use that one.

can joe Kelly use his time off during his suspension to throw a fastball at Bryson's head?

Glad the rules official told him to pound sand.

That said, if my ball was legitimately near a fire ant mound out on the course, you can bet your ass I would be doing a little free chip out.

Heck, he was close enough to the tree/roots that I would give anyone there free relief. No reason to snap a club or break a wrist on it if you're not a pro.
