In on-course news, the tweaks that my ‘teacher’ has put into my swing resulted in a near parring of the front 9 today. Left a 35-footer a couple rolls short that would have done it. Holes 11 thru 16 derailed me from possibly shooting my best score ever. Perhaps next time.

I really need to take lessons. One of my biggest regrets if I'm being honest is not taking them in my 20s.

In some ways, you may not necessarily need a full lesson. You might just need someone to look at your swing and then look at tweaks that can be made. For me, I had the fundamentals and the athleticism but a couple of little things that were off (too wide of a stance, not close enough to the ball, posture). Improved on a couple of those things and the ball flight changed immensely. Got away from a couple of things and I suffered. It takes a bit of extra time to practice it too. With the current situation, I've been able to get a lot more range time than usual and this time, it's been productive rather than getting up there and just hitting a bucket into oblivion.

I read that they plan on starting back up in June at the Memorial with no fans, but that isn't in any official article. I think it was tweeted by a reputable source like Golf Digest and not some random account. I'll see if I can find it

Fall should be a good time if we can get back to normal by then. I anticipate some time at the bars the weekends that we have major golf, CFB and NFL ongoing. And maybe NBA/NHL playoffs too? Sheesh

Was hoping that they'd keep that weekend clear that they slid the US Open into because I had plans for that time. Now we'll get a US Open and the Ryder Cup in back to back weeks. It'll be fun to see how they handle logistics of a large field with reduced daylight. I'd imagine they'll cut the field down, especially since the qualifying process will be compromised. Then again, Winged Foot has two courses so they could go the Women's Open route and use both but that's highly highly doubtful, especially since they'd use the other course for tents, parking, fan village, etc.

I haven't even thought about the daylight factor. Definitely a major logistical concern. The Masters will be a full three months further from the summer solstice than it usually is.

The Masters is a smaller field and will be fine. The US Open just has such a large field that there literally isn't enough daylight for the normal field to get around twice in two days.

Also of note on Masters weekend. ND plays GT at the Mercedes Benz Stadium on Saturday and the Falcons are home the next day. Hotels might get pricey

Atlanta is 2+ hours from Augusta so if people are in town for the golf, they likely won't be making the football game(s) unless they're 8pm or later starts. Plus, the hotels in Augusta are skyrocketed during Masters Week anyway, which will be great for my points account if we can get back into the Courtyard that we should be in right now.

Let's see...in normalcy, I'd probably be under the big tree by the clubhouse sneezing on pollen right now or carrying a tripod around the course looking for Rory or Tiger or someone like that. That's one hell of a workout on that layout.

Final field set at 96 for the November Masters. Anyone who wins a tournament between now and then will be qualifed for the 2021 Masters. So if daylight dies at 5:40pm on those days, they'll have plenty of time to get it in. That likely means we'll get a final group on Sunday going off at around 12:30 or they may try split tees and 3's like they did last year. Either way, Masters Sunday vs. NFL Sunday (especially if there are no fans at either) is going to be a fascinating ratings battle.

2016 Ryder Cup Sunday on Golf channel right now. Maybe the most fun event I've ever been at. And definitely the only time I've rooted for Patrick Reed
