Have you gotten to play Augusta on the media day? I don't recall.
Not yet. Only been eligible for it the last 3 years. The amount of nerves in anticipation on Friday afternoon is off the charts...almost like checking the list in the locker room to see if you made the basketball team.
What are the odds of getting picked? Would be unreal. My dad got to play it in the 90s
They draw 20 spots so it's roughly 1 in 15-20 depending on who's eligible and how many press/photogs put in for it.

how does this DA Points fella continue to get into PGA Tour fields? 736th in the world, only win since 2013 was an alternate event (Puerto Rico Open). I don't get it

Puerto Rico Open still carries a two-year winner's exemption.

Well... I've been talking about it for years, but now I'm actually going to "upgrade" my clubs. I went to the driving range at lunch today, and my 7 iron was so rusted on the shaft that it snapped. Bought these bad boys from a web site that I'm not even sure exists anymore for $100 well over a decade ago. I'd say they've served me well... now onto some other clone clubs.

I'm probably going to go Giga Golf or Diamond Tour. Anyone have any experience with either?

I love my Ping i3s, made from 1999-2001. I fear if I ever start playing regularly again I'm going to have to buy a new set.

What kind of budget are your working with? Clones are usually fine, but I would recommend looking at 2nd Swing, Global Golf, or Callaway Pre-owned first. Lots of lightly used top of the line clubs at a discount.

I bought a set of clubs from callaway golf pre owned when I was in college

keep in mind that I was in college and not a grown ass man with a home, doctorate, job, wife, and child. in other words, I had reason to buy pre owned clubs. there is no reason for a gainfully employed adult such as c2i to buy clones or used clubs.

I think all my stuff is from the various pre-owned sites. Rich **** like to get new clubs every year, use them a couple times, and then dump them. Then I buy them for like half their original price.

Suck it.

I golf maybe 5 times a year, and I am of the opinion that clubs don't make you better. My guess is at most, clone clubs such as those from giga golf are only 5 years or so behind current technology. If I buy new from them vs buying a few years old used set am I really that much better off? As for buying brand new non-clone clubs... f*ck that noise. I've got better stuff to spend my money on.

full disclosure: my irons, 3 hybrid, driver, and sand wedge are hand me downs from my dad

my gap wedge was part of the pre owned callaway set I bought in 2005

my sand wedge (an awesome Hogan sure out) was bought used on line

the only club in my bag I bought new was my putter

but I stand by all of my statements re: new clubs

This is where I am. My clubs are 18 years old but they're made for a 6'4" idiot.

I had these gorgeous forged Cobra's before I had kids and played at least twice a week. Then I had kids and I play maybe 4 times a year, so I had to give up the blades and get a four year old set of Ping G10s. I just shattered the graphite shaft in the 7 iron so it's about time to start the scavenging over again.
