i'm assuming he laid up on purpose? ^
I thought he chunked it... just didn’t seem like a clean hit, but I could be wrong.

That was awesome. Next major up is the PGA Championship, which just feels weird.

The crowd electricity was pretty impressive today. We’d hear a far off roar for whatever TW did and then a roar would go up on 18 when they’d post another birdie. There was the tunnel leading to the scoring house filled with people. They were 6-7 deep around the practice green when they came out to have Reed put the javket on TW and take pics. How we got to this point was pretty weird but we got here.

And currently, I’m sitting in the clubhouse waiting for a one-on-one with the champion.

It's crazy that a lot of the guys in their 20s and early 30s that competed against Tiger today probably were influenced heavily by Tiger making the sport explode in the late 90s/early 2000s. There is so much talent on the tour today, which makes this win even more impressive.

In hindsight, watching the masters because I forgot the pens were on at noon rather than 7 was the best possible outcome.

I keep reliving that shot at 16 yesterday... That was, pardon the expression, vintage Tiger. Goosebumps

Yeah, but in my mind OP started it as a knock on all the Tiger or nothing crazies to mock them. Now he has to continue to play the part.
Other dark horse, Brandel Chamblee.

LOL, you could tell how uncomfortable he was having to talk positively about Tiger Saturday night, also twisting the knife into David Duval's back.
Speaking of double D, he's the Golf Channel equivalent to Gruden, except he's likable. There's not a golfer in the field he doesn't pump up.

Only players in the top 10 who didn't shoot under par yesterday were ones playing with Tiger. I don't think it has quite the affect that it used to, but I wonder how much that played into Finau and Molinari.

Based on some of what I've read, seems like his second shot on 18 hit a tree limb, which is why it was so short.

I loved the answer about what he was thinking waiting to tap in on 18.
Q. I just wondered, after you hit the first putt on 18, I don't want to call it a quiet moment, but you're standing off to the side while Francesco and Tony putted out. What was going through your mind at that moment?

TIGER WOODS: The new green; that damn thing should have broke (laughter). I hit a pure putt. I remember that putt breaking and it just didn't break.

I was wondering that. He pointed up at the tree overhanging but the announcers never mentioned it

Duval is pretty good, I enjoy watching him
