I upgraded from a crappy driver to a decent one recently. My prior club might have been just complete garbage, but it definitely made a huge difference. Much more forgiveness on mishits.

a. please tell me that isn't one of the square versions of that stupid club

b. it is a good idea to get a new driver. you don't have to drop $600 bucks on the absolute latest technology, but there is a legit difference between 16 year old technology and technology that is 2 or 3 years old

Yeah the technology is just so much better now. So as long as you play a decent amount you'd notice a little extra yardage but probably moreso some extra forgiveness. I'd probably get fitted, though any new driver you hit will be leaps and bounds better than what you had. If you don't want to do the fitting then you might find a decent deal on Rock Bottom or a similar site with a year or two old model of a driver

It’s blowing 25 here in central PA and this guy is gonna try to keep his launch angle below 10 degrees. This was likely a good decision to play.
Good God, best of luck today. It is exceedingly rare for central Pennsylvania to ever be under a High Wind Warning...usually that's reserved for the coast lines. I cannot imagine trying to play golf in this nonsense today.

So putter off the tee... and everywhere else?

As expected, wasn’t pretty. 2nd-most wind I’ve played in outside of Portrush. Worst part is I couldn’t get the greens speeds right and left everything pitifully short. 6 GIR, 4 3-putts on those 6. Did have a couple holes into the wind where I actually impressed myself only to turn around and have 190 into a par 5 in 2 and chunk a simple 7-iron.

Reunion again with my peeps that live here. Nicklaus course beat me up today but shot my best round ever on Palmer yesterday. A-10 had their conference tourney with the final round on Nicklaus in the morning before we went out. Fun pins

I hope you’re getting some good deals to play out there cuz they ain’t cheap. Good tracks, though. The Watson side has smacked me around plenty in the two times I’ve played it.

Really nice bounceback after losing out at Genesis. He was pretty bummed out after that. He really put it together this week and now can be known for something else besides beating Tiger head-to-head as a qualifier in the final round of the 2018 Honda Classic.

Free! The one girl helps out with the course and just gets us out when they've got openings. Works out pretty well imo

Best two words in the game - free golf. Especially when it’s on an iconic track.

I play that one plenty. It’s one of the best daily fee/non-resort courses left in the area that hasn’t been f’d up by ownership. If I have friends in town, especially in summer when rates are lower, that’s where I’d take them.

I played in in 2013 and remembered really liking it but some people said it's gone downhill. So I was pleasantly surprised that it was in decent shape

If you enjoy playing and play more then say, 10 times a year, then yes
yeah, I'll try to go out once a week or two starting now until November

any recs?
across the board, taylor made seems to have been the belle of the ball in the 'best driver' category. i used to play titleist and ping drivers and switched to TM about 10 years ago and havent been disappointed. callaway seems to have improved lately but have a mental block and refuse to play them
