i see on the line there is a 'reservation' fee if you reserve that doesn't count for the game play. do you still need to pay the reservation fee even if you don't reserve. im not sure ive seen a more ambiguous pricing model besides healthcareI'd do 2 hours. You don't NEED a reservation, but depending on when you're going it might be a good idea. You can hang at the bar and eat while you wait, and it doesn't cost more or less if you reserve it or not as far as I know

For what its worth, my gf (who does not golf) and 5 other people (one of which is a golfer) went last Thursday evening and it was about an hour wait.

it's $50 to reserve a bay, and they typically don't recommend it unless you're a corporate event.I'd do 2 hours. My first work trip of the year and I watch Mickelson put up a 60. I think that’s the sixth one I’ve witnessed along with 3 59s and a 58.

Planning on going to Pebble for the US open. I lucked out and found a relatively cheap Airbnb ($75 a night) in Freedom CA
My plan is to go to the Friday round and then Sunday. Any recommendations while at the course/in the area?

This is an obvious one, but spend a good bit of time in Monterey and drive the PCH/17 Mile Drive.Planning on going to Pebble for the US open. I lucked out and found a relatively cheap Airbnb ($75 a night) in Freedom CA

Don’t walk in front of a moving golf cart. I tend to get a bit aggressive going from point A to B.Planning on going to Pebble for the US open. I lucked out and found a relatively cheap Airbnb ($75 a night) in Freedom CA

Cannery Row and aquarium are big draws. If it’s a good weather week, 17-mile drive is great for sights, especially the Lone Cypress. However, the last time US Open was at Pebble, there were some road closures/detours due to parking. That is one other thing I’d recommend - if there’s a shuttle from Monterey into the course, I’d use it because it’s very easy to get lost in the forest. Oh yeah, and be patient too cuz traffic isn’t easy there, even during the normal AT&T tourney week.

No golfer has won a tournament with a double and a triple in the final round since the 1930s. Rickie may be about to do just that.

Rickie with a big birdie on 17. That should do it

So what's that, like a 4 stroke penalty each time he grounded his club?

The ball was outside the bunker so he could have dug out the entire bunker and it wouldn't matter. PLUS, that's an old rule now. The new rules allow for you to smash the bunker in frustration if your ball is still in it and not incur a penalty. So what's that, like a 4 stroke penalty each time he grounded his club?

Great win for Phil at Pebble Beach. Takes home an impressive fifth title at the tournament.
He only has so many chances left to grab that elusive US Open...with it being at Pebble this year, you have to figure this is probably his last good shot.

I would be curious to hear your thoughts on the Kuchar caddie story. It sounds like they already had an arrangement so I'm not sure what the big deal is, but $5k does seem insanely low for a $1.3 million purse.

Kuch is now a dbag in my book. The 50k would be less than half of what would have paid out to his full time caddy, and would have went a long way to help Kuch remain the golly gee shucks likeable fella he was. The line he had, paraphrasing was something like - "$5K is a great week for someone normally making $200 a week." Bush league let them eat cake move imo. He didn't HAVE to give him more money but we don't have to root for him anymore. Also that was his first win in over 4 years, come on man.
Oh, and he goes to Mexico for the WGC next week. Get ya popcorn ready.
I know I'm not OP but these are ulf's thoughts on the formerly likeable golfer known as Kuch.

This is true. I'm inclined to agree with this. It shouldn't matter if it's a substitute caddie. That is insanely cheap. Kuchar is a millionaire countless times over at this point. And especially given the lovable image that Kuchar has cultivated with the golf world throughout his career, it's almost shocking to me that maintaining that image wasn't worth more to him.I know I'm not OP but these are ulf's thoughts on the formerly likeable golfer known as Kuch.

I read that after the caddy initially reached out and said he wanted more, Kuch was like ok you’re right I’ll give you 15k more, and this caddy was like “nah I want at least 50k so stuff it”. I say piss on all parties involved.
