I was surprised at how many prominent golfers were Tweeting their displeasure last night. I get the impression he is not a very popular guy on tour.

Anybody ever been to this?

Was kicking around going next month, but it looks like it's more heavy on the travel than the golf.

DONT DO IT

I don't care if you are extremely desperate for golf/good weather/good vibes. JUST DO NOT DO IT.

The travel part makes me nervous. I'm guessing there will be a lot of sales demos?

Tony Romo gets a sponsor's exemption to play in the PGA Tour opposite event in the DR next month. Insert Tony Romo-related jokes here...

I avoided the travel stuff. Wouldn't even look in the direction of the travel booths. Already have three trips planned this year and a fourth that just came up over the weekend, but thankfully I can do that one by car since it's only six hours.

I picked up last year's M2-D Type for a little under $180 after tax, which also included trading in my Superfast Burner.

It's pretty funny listening to these announcers try and talk around how in bad shape this course is in Mexico City.

I watched about 4 shots this weekend... yesterday I swear I saw a guy hit a drive on a par 4 onto the green... 410 yards away.

Looks like he hit it about 320-330 and just got a massive few bounces and probably a nice roll downhill.

The announcers were like, 410... onto the green... not bad... let's go to the 8th.

Big win for Phil today! What a finish. Justin Thomas holes out an eagle on 18, but Mickelson puts two birdies together to take it to a playoff. Thomas seems like he is in contention in every tournament, and has won eight tournaments at the age of 24.

Hard to believe that was his first win in almost 5 years.

Keep in mind that Mexico City is almost 8000 feet above sea level so take your normal carry and add 15% to that and then tack on the downhill factor. The first hole there was a 320 yard par 4 that played downhill and guys were getting on with 3 woods.

As one of our researchers said on Saturday, it's a fun trivia question to try and stump people -- who has the most recent win, Tiger or Phil? That answer is no longer Tiger.

@Orlando Penguin I feel like you would be my best shot at getting an answer. Sharma received a special invitation to play in the Masters.. Is it me or is that extremely rare? I can't find much history on special invites.

The skeptic in me says they want the Indian ratings but I'd like to think it's a good gesture

It's happened a few times in the past. Augusta National reserves the right to extend special invites to international players in their continuing quest to grow the game across the world. Sharma gets one this year, which makes sense given how well he's played the last 3 months. I think the last time they extended one of these invites was 2013 when Ryo Ishikawa of Japan and Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand got the magical card in the mail (it was Ryo's 3rd time getting in thru this avenue).

Any of yinz game a GBB Epic or the like? Callaway Preowned is doing a 50% trade in bonus this week and I'm feeling compelled to make an exchange.

Tiger Woods is tied for the lead in the clubhouse at the Valspar with Snedeker and Casey. Put together a really nice 68 today on a course that is playing tough.

I wouldn't be surprised to see tiger compete but I really don't think he's going to put together the whole Tournament of a high enough score to really win a major

And for those that say Tiger doesn't matter...I can tell you right now I'm probably going to watch some of the Valspar because he's in contention. Certainly wouldn't have turned it on otherwise, even being a fan of TV golf in general.

@Orlando Penguin, does Innisbrook always play this tough?

Oh yes, it's a tough track...and it gets a ton of respect from the players. Tight sloping fairways and elevation changes on approaches (something you don't really get many places in Florida) as well as a wind system that swirls when it gets in those trees. Then, they grow the Bermuda up enough off the fairways and greens to penalize you for missing your targets. Average score to win since it moved to the spring in 2007 is right around -10.

Thanks. I just learned that Charl Schwartzel's only other PGA Tour win was at the Valspar in 2016. I really thought he would be more of a contender after that 2011 season.
