I was talking about Scotland with one of younger people at work. It turns out that she has played the (only?) 9 hole beginners course at St. Andrew's. pretty cool.

Played at Pittsburgh National this morning. $45 bucks was a pretty good deal. Course was in pretty good shape, but the greens were a little hard.

Shot a 99, but had a 2 hole blow up on 10 and 11 that inflated the score. Still need to figure out what the best spot to have my driver is (had it loft-adjusted down .5 degrees but couldn't get the club face closed well enough, so I may need to tinker some more), but I made up for bad drives with better 2nd shots.

Decreasing the loft of a club actually causes a fade bias. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but that is actually what happens.

Phil Mickelson (remember him?) sneaking around the chicken coop at the Safeway Open. Seeking first win since he won the British Open. He says he's gonna win...maybe tomorrow, maybe in China, but it's going to happen soon. And if you happen to listen to his interview after his round that's on our website, you'll hear a certain poster (me) asking him about the crazy-ass shot he hit on 13 today.

I know. I was trying different things out with my grip at address to close the club face (and actually hit a draw on the first hole), but after the first 9 I gave up on it until I could hit the range again

Shot a 43 at Moon today, which very easily could have been a 39. Lipped three putts from 5 feet or less and had another that came up short by an inch.

On the other hand, the front nine was ugly. First round over 50 that I shot since probably June.

at my lesson last week my instructor introduced me to the "strong grip". Saturday on the course I was driving 40 yards longer per club and mostly straight. I was only 78 on a par 61. previous best on the same course was 86. pretty happy considering I've been playing less than a year. :)

Black Friday deals at http://www.callawaygolfpreowned.com/

- Hybrids and Fairways, BOGO
- Wedges and Putters, BOGO
- Drivers, 30% - 50% off

Snagged two hybrids and two wedges this morning in "Like New" condition (These clubs are nearly impossible to differentiate from new. They have been hit very few times, if at all, and show almost no wear. These clubs may have been refinished at some point.) for $240.

My first set of clubs was from callaway golf preowned. I bought them with my kennywood bonus money when I was 21. good times.

It is very difficult to browse. On the other hand, right now everything is cheap as hell so I don't care how hard it is to browse.
