Does anyone else hate Bryson Dechambeau as much as I do? Just watch this sht. So full of himself and his mad scientist shtick. He said he's gonna putt with the pin in this year except for the US Open and a couple other tournaments that use fiberglass pins because the coefficient of restitution is too high. Stfu

He is an insufferable dadhole.
He should join Poni and Mullzy on The Fan's PM team! It would be... prodigiously majestic.
hard to argue with the results

If he didn't have 5 wins and 4 in the last 5 months, I think more people in the golf world would just blow off this business as crackpipe-speak. But his mind is working at a level a lot higher than most of the rest of the Tour (who are mostly mental midgets...I mean, do you really need a sports psychologist?) and after having his meltdown at Carnoustie and MC'ing at the PGA, he's turned it around. We'll see how long this hot streak lasts.

My hot take is his mind works at a level no higher than the average tour and he just wants to be perceived as being very smart when he isn't that smart. The results are good, and he's playing great golf so the results are obviously there. But I'm not sure the mad scientist, coefficient of restitution, neurological peace bs has anything to do with it.

I wouldn't say using a sports psych means you're a mental midget.

It's more than just help to keep composure.

Tiger vs. Phil today. Not really sure how to feel about it but I'm sure I'll tune in, at least for the first couple holes.

You're going to spend 20 bucks just to watch 5 or 6 holes?

I wouldn’t mind listening in while these dudes talk to their caddies and so forth to learn something about how they approach shots.

But the rest of that stuff? MEH.

Random thoughts for yesterday

Overall disappointed. Play was average. Course looked great, liked seeing competitive golf on tv without the grand stands and big crowds. Liked the player caddy chat. Chirping was significantly below Where I thought it would be, same with betting. I think with two different players with a little bit of a friendly and competitive rapport it would have been very successful but I understand wanting to get tiger on the bill. Commentators were ok once they got going, I think in the beginning they were awkwardly quiet to allow the players to talk but it became apparent that wasn’t happening. Natalie gulbis was hella bad.

Yahoo wrote a scathing review. Capital One commercials during a pay per view would have triggered me hard.

It was okay. I thought there would be more, inappropriate trash talk considering the PPV nature but they were both afraid of crossing any lines in public I think. They played terribly. Course was great, still fun to watch after the front nine. Worth the twenty bucks, but wasn't anything great

They gave it away for free because people couldn't purchase it.

I golfed Sunday morning. I feel like that's worth mentioning for 11/25

Yup. Saturday was rainy as heck all day, but the course was surprisingly in great shape for late November. Still cart path only, but we could have probably went 90 degrees after 9 holes

We were going to take the whole fam to play 9 Saturday, but were thwarted by a impromptu play date.
28 Hours later we had 6" of snow on the ground.

we had a tee time set up at a course we never played at before on Thanksgiving day. it's about a 30 minute drive from our house. tee times were set up through Golf Now. we get down to the course and there's no one there. no email, no phone call telling us they decided to close. I wish I'd been up to walking because I would've just gone out anyway.
anyway, we get in the car and drive to a course we knew would be open that was unfortunately an hour away but at least we got to play. when I checked with GolfNow to see if we were still charged for our tee time they said we were charged but they could refund us.
I've emailed the GM of the course. hoping to get some free tee times out of it.

top golf question

if we are trying to go, do you need a reservation? do you have to pay for a bay if you dont do a reservation? can you eat and such while you wait for your bay? for 6 people, is an hour enough? 2 hours?

I'd do 2 hours. You don't NEED a reservation, but depending on when you're going it might be a good idea. You can hang at the bar and eat while you wait, and it doesn't cost more or less if you reserve it or not as far as I know
