Well it's clearly not random. It's situations where it might fall into the cup.

it’s random that the timer goes from 40 to 10

No, 40 seconds is a pace of play timer. This isn't a pace of play issue. It's a "your stroke didn't cause this ball to be holed" issue if it takes that long

lol we’re gonna have to agree to disagree on this one because I think we fundamentally disagree on the cup being a special case or not

That lip out by Clark was BRUTAL on 18. Not to mention the near miss eagle on 16. Scheffler shoots 64 with a bad neck and becomes the first to ever win two consecutive Player's Championships.

Clark also finished runner up to Scheffler last week. Ouch.

Simulator league is over. We just barely missed the playoffs.

There were 72 teams split into 6 different divisions. Each round, you'd go head to head with another team. Scoring was 2 points a hole combined low net score on the hole wins. There were also 2 points available for lowest net round between the two teams. The top two teams from each division advanced to the playoffs along with the next top 4 teams for points across all divisions. There was a 3-way tie for the last two spots (including us) and the tie breaker was low net total across the entire season. Which is fair, imo. We got lucky with our scoring to be up that high.

My gross score averaged 40 through the 11 rounds. Low of 37 and high of 45. So I was pretty consistent through the season. My partner's gross score averaged 47.6. Low of 41 and high of 55. Dude was all over the map.

Oh well, on to real golf!

Was at dunhams today buying my kiddo soccer gear. As we were walking through the store, she got really excited by the golf stuff and asked if she could get clubs. I got her a 7 iron and when we got home, she went straight to the backyard and was hitting balls for a half hour.

So it begins.

I’m starting to suspect that there is a direct correlation between bad weather and the urge to buy equipment I don’t need

Sounds like the LIV defectors have realized no one gives a **** about them anymore.
Four-time major champion Rory McIlroy isn't the only player who believes the current state of men's professional golf -- with elite players competing on the PGA Tour or in the LIV Golf League -- is not sustainable.

Defending Masters champion Jon Rahm, Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau and other LIV Golf League players said the sport needs to be reunited before too many golf fans turn away for good.

"The fans are what drive this sport," DeChambeau said Wednesday at a pre-tournament news conference at Trump National Doral in Miami. "If we don't have fans, we don't have golf. We are not up here entertaining. That's the most important thing as of right now -- the low-hanging fruit. There's got to be a way to come together.

"And it needs to happen fast. It's not a two-year thing. Like it needs to happen quicker rather than later just for the good of the sport. Too many people are losing interest."

No one gives a sht about either tour any more

I consume a lot of golf out of habit. I watch reruns late night to cool off before bed. The pga tour lineups are absolute garbage week in week out. Nobody cares about these guys. Meanwhile the LIV guys probably underestimated how much they cared about the competition and adrenaline of playing meaningful golf

No one is winning right now. It all sucks. I don’t want to see a bunch of randos on the god damn leaderboard every week

I stopped watching tour golf when Jay Monahan announced they would, indeed, allow the Saudi's to buy the tour. So I only watch the majors now. I even stopped listening to golf podcasts (found out Rick Schiels was taking Saudi sponsorship money after a sudden uptick in LIV coverage on his show) and most of my golf Youtube channels.

I'm not really interested in what they do moving forward. Hopefully it will serve as a warning to other sports that sportswashing can backfire; but it probably doesn't matter if they're going to accept Saudi money. They're still getting paid, they just won't be relevant anymore.

Yup. TL is right, the doublespeak from these shitheads is nauseating. It all started with Phil. His legacy went from a beloved figure that won a major at 50 to destroying golf a year later.

Spieth had a 1, 3, 4, 5, and 7 on the back nine. Typical.

PGA has been fun lately with Scheffler going on a tear. At the end of the day there are still stars in the tour and golf is exciting when there are good players playing

this is where the LIV guys are kind of get hurt. The PGA Tour itself turned out to be villainous but the players are still babyfaces and are still relevant more than 4 times a year. I don’t blame anyone for taking the money but at the end of his career Scheffler will be more popular as a LIV guy even if the LIV guy has more majors. It’s hard to compare that to a monetary value but LIV is effectively irrelevant and the Tour still has a dedicated fan base

There have been a ton of wonderful stories on Tour this year. I know it doesn't resonate with the masses but I've really enjoyed them.
