Where all are you playing OP?
My parents live in Palmyra and I'm very much a muni-type player so trying to talk my way onto Hershey CC or some place like that isn't my cup of tea. Most definitely will play Fairview, which is between Lebanon and Palmyra, and Manada, which is next to Penn National Race Course. After that, we'll see what else I can get myself into. Shouldn't have a problem getting on anywhere as a single. Naturally I have to be home when my brother and my friends are all working.
Have you ever played at Foxchase? That's a nice course.

I’ve rarely played much in that neck of the woods. Once at Lancaster CC, a few times at Crossgates in Millersville in the late 90s, a couple of times at Iron Valley (sneaky good), and once at a course near ETown that I don’t even remember the name of anymore.

None of that sounds very pleasant.
It was the absolute worst. That course used to be the best public course within a 30 min drive of Johnstown. If I had to rank the local courses now:

* Ebensburg C.C./Oakbrook
* Windber C.C.
* Berkley
* North Fork (returning in 2020)
* Richland Greens
* tie - any course that I failed to mention
* Appledale in its current condition, which hasn't been touched since 2010.
* Pleasant Valley Golf

LOL at Appledale. I used to play that venerable old course every weekend practically. I remember having to ring the bell on the the 6th or 7th fairway. That was a brutally hilly course.

meow may or may not have drunkenly drove a cart into the pond on 7 at Richland Greens.

Richland Greens was the first golf course that I've ever played.

that same pond has a 9 iron from my bag resting at the bottom. Surprisingly, it wasn't from a Happy Gilmore-type rage toss.

We played there one afternoon and it started raining on the 6th. Nothing terrible, so we played on. It started dumping on 7, so we pulled off to the side and rode it out. My ball is about 15-20 yards from the front of the pond and I'm on my third or fourth shot. I wasn't wearing gloves back then, so that hard plastic grip that I had on those old clubs did me no favors that day. 9 iron launched right out of my hands... SPLOOSH!!

I think I ended up playing a year or maybe even two years without a 9 iron.

Used to love Appledale. That hole on 6 with the bell was perfect for my slice. If I managed to hit one straight, it would carry enough over the hill to where I'd have a decent lie for my second shot. If I really got a hold of it and sliced, it would usually make it slightly past the trees before the hard slice started and would somehow still be in the fairway.

7 and 9 both had those low powerlines. We'd have at least one person hit the lines on 7 or 9 once a round.

Shot a career best 77 today to win the club net championship. I didn't know how I'd feel if I ever won a net trophy but I played out of my mind so I'm pretty pumped. #liveundernetpar

I missed breaking 40 by a putt last weekend. Was +1 after 5 and was coming up on 9 at 36 with a par 3 in front of me. Par the hole, walk away with a 39. My tee shot goes right but only 20 yards away from the green. Chip on, roll it past the hole, with the ball coming to a stop about 10 ft away. Read the break perfectly, but the ball rolled the cup and never dropped.

I'll admit that this also happened on a short course that the white tees were under 3000 yards

Shot an 87 at Lakevue North last week. First time there. Greens were weird from hole to hole, but shot 4 over on the back,, so I figured it out eventually.

Just finished up Rolling Acres North and South 9s. Tied my personal best 82. Shot my best ever 9 of a 1 over 38 on the South (par was 37). Felt really good. Only two or three legitimately bad shots but I made up for it. I wish I could be more consistent, because I feel like I'm right on the cusp of breaking 80.

When you feel like you’re on that cusp, it will come eventually. Biggest thing is not thinking about it during the round but I know that’s real tough.

Other than the first green, which is just insane, I generally like Lakevue North.

The greens seemed... long? Like the grass was uneven from green to green so it was really tough to get a read on the speed early.

Did you go today? They probably mowed yesterday morning and called it a weekend.

Lakevue was last week on Saturday, so that wouldn't be too surprising.

Hey look, Matt Kuchar was being a Canaan again...
El Tucan technically was not entitled to a normal caddie payday after a big win in Mexico.

The pitch mark at the Memorial was his because someone said so, yet a replay said otherwise and a third opinion was asked for to get a better lie.

And now coarse waste bunker sand is a loose impediment.

The newly revised rules opened the door for the latest questionable act of sportsmanship by Matt Kuchar. Players can now move a loose impediment in a bunker. As Kuchar demonstrated, if sand is coarse enough to be a pebble in the eyes of any official, then all of the tiny particles are loose impediments.

Kuchar went on to miss the cut, shooting four over par after two rounds.
Good.

I’ve been to Pinehurst for the Open but have not played any of the courses. One of my bosses has a house there and it has been the site of a number of ‘work’ trips that I haven’t been in on for one reason or another.
