Lowry bogeyed 3 of his last 4 and still has a 5 shot lead. I wish there was a little drama but that would mean a collosal collapse which no one wants to see happen to anyone but JB Holmes

A very worthy champion. The place was pretty raucous, especially with the fans rushing the fairway on 18 (which fortunately, I was able to stay ahead of). We'll see how much he's able to build on this and it's nice to see that he was able to exorcise the demons from Oakmont in 2016. On the flip side, JB certainly had a lot of fun with his 87 today. I watched him scuff two balls in the greenside rough on 17. Definitely some goals to shoot for tomorrow -- beat Rory on the 1st hole, beat Duval on the 7th hole, and try to beat JB's round today. We'll see how it goes.

Goal #1 - beat Rory on 1. Succeeded. Made a nice bogey after topping 3-wood off tee.
Goal #2 - beat Duval on 7. Succeeded. Made double. Wasn’t pretty.
Goal #3 - beat JB. Lofty but quixotic. It was blowing a constant 30 and gusting 40+. First five holes were fine but making the turn into the wind at 6 started the adventure. How bad was the wind? Into the wind on 9, I had 170 out, had perfect contact with a 3-wood and it went 120 yards. Then off the tee at 10 with wind at the back, hit 7-iron and it went at least 230 with the roll. Worst wind I’ve ever played and had to stop after 13 so I could make my airport shuttle. Didn’t make a par in those 13 holes and somehow only lost 4 balls.

So by my count 71-77. Take that JB (nobody has to know you quit early).

Awesome! Safe travels back stateside. I absolutely loathe playing in high wind conditions.Goal #1 - beat Rory on 1. Succeeded. Made a nice bogey after topping 3-wood off tee.

It had been a good while since I’ve played in gusty winds. Been lucky that my other rounds in Britain the last 2 years weren’t too awful, though, Carnoustie was a bit rough. But I ain’t done wreaking havoc over here. Headed to Lytham & St Anne’s for the old guys and have a round tomorrow at Fairhaven. Can only hope it’s parkland. I miss hitting tree branches.

I wish you could have seen that ball flight. Great contact but I hit a high ball as it is and the wind made like Dikembe Mutombo and gave me the wagging finger to boot. And naturally it hit and rolled backwards down a slope into a bunker.A 120 3 wood is just bananas

lol unreal. I play a lower ball so I've always wondered if I'd be better suited over there. I like to tell myself I'd be awesome on links courses

Went golfing with important people on Friday and our COO commented that my drives look like an 8-iron. I know exactly how I'd fare in 30 mph wind.

I feel like I'd just try to punch it and let it roll out if the wind was more than like 10 mph into my face.

that brings an interesting point about corporate golf. ive heard people say that they always lay down and let the the higher up/the person who did the inviting win. thoughts on this? i play for keeps.

also when people tell me thats their approach (laying down), i usually make a mental note to never want to work with that person in the future

I'm usually good for 250+ off the tee, it's just unbelievably high and hangs up there forever.lol Dickie
**** that. I play for keeps. Now, when the COO says he got a 5 on a par 3 but actually got a 7, well I'm not gonna call him out on it.that brings an interesting point about corporate golf. ive heard people say that they always lay down and let the the higher up/the person who did the inviting win. thoughts on this? i play for keeps.

I've never played with people from/for work other than scrambles, in which I play my best. Or at least, I try to.
