Top Golf is a blast. Took today off, figured weather would be bad so went down to Btidgeville.

Had a blast at Quail Hollow. Field was a lot weaker than last year. Not a lot of big names, and the big hole was really in the "Tier II" golfers.

Still had a good time and got to see Phil hit it in the water on 7. Also got to see a fist fight, which is always a plus.

I almost went today. I threw some laundry in, grabbed some breakfast and lost track of time. Once I realized it was close to 1030 and i realized I still needed a shower and still had a 15 min drive to get there, I decided against it. I mean I could have still gone and paid a little more, but that $15 9 to noon deal during the week is better than most driving ranges.

I might end up going on Sunday if it rains. Friend of mine wants to play 18 somewhere, but if it rains I may see if he wants to hit up TopGolf instead. I have $10 off that expires next week and would hate to lose it. If I don't go, maybe I'll post the code for whoever wants it.

Pretty sure the Byron Nelson is the worst tournament on the tour.

This golf course is terrible and it's not winning over any players outside of the ones that call Dallas home. For whatever reason, there wasn't a lot of love for TPC Las Colinas but at least that one was centrally located and was attached to a hotel that every player stayed in. Add to it that the Nelson falls the week before the PGA means that they won't exactly attract the top end of the world rankings.

But as far as worst tournament on Tour? Probably not. I haven't been to Trinity Forest and hope to avoid that trip at all times but John Deere, Sanderson Farms, and Greenbrier are real woofers.

Greenbrier is good because a bunch of those guys own homes on site and the on-site perks are nice.

Sanderson Farms has to be garbage because I played on that course and don't think it is that nice.

Trinity Forest would be an awesome course if the Tour played it firm and fast like Coore and Crenshaw intended. Instead they water it down and soften it up and we see -25 scores. The course is a pretty cool story between it being built on a landfill and designing an entire hybrid strand of grass to work there and play a links style and be eco friendly to require mowing much less often than the standard course. Shame the tour doesn't just let it be.

I subscribe to the Golfers Journal and got an email to play in a two man event there but unfortunately it sold out in two days before I decided if I wanted to pay the cash to participate.

Yeah, extremely low-scoring tournaments like this do nothing for me. I'm not looking for pain every weekend, but I also want birdies to be meaningful.

played our hockey league's annual charity tournament Friday and our foursome didn't come in last! I believe I heard the winners shot a 60. we shot a 71 but had a rough start and I can think of at least 3 where sloppy putting hurt us. not to mention the back 9 where we had 2 Irish Car Bombs within 4 holes and accuracy went right of the rails.
I've only been playing golf for 2 years so I was pleased to have my drives off the tee used about 2/3 of the time and very proud that my gf won a closest to the pin contest on one of the par 3's :thumb:

Rain and cold at Bethpage today. If you’re gonna pick a winner, might wanna pick someone who hits it longer than most cuz the ball won’t be rolling out in these fairways.

Public service announcement: For those of you watching the PGA and want to know what it is like to play a Tillinghast course, Wannango country club, just between oil city and franklin, PA, is an old country club converted into a public course. Some of the amenities have seen better days (cart paths, flower boxes, etc are worn out) but the course is still in good shape. the layout itself is a ton of fun and really does a gr8 job of getting all you can out of a hilly property.

I don't know if it's the move to May, or it being at Bethpage but I'm infinitely more into this PGA than any in the past.

I think I'll take the afternoon off.

Bethpage playing fairly tough today, although Koepka is off to yet another fast start. Damn that guy is good.

Brooks doing what he does in majors. Another 63 on the board in a PGA. He’s like the Cris Carter of golf - all he does is win majors.
