That is dumb on many many levels. The stakes are way too high for them to have to play via car headlights to finish it off. Come back at 7am tomorrow morning and finish it out like you're supposed to.

Greetings from Down Under, mates!

I’ve got 72 holes of Australian golf under my belt thus far but actually had to start working today. And it already gets juiced up with Cam Smith disparaging Patrick Reed for Reed’s cheating (my words) in the bunker at Hero. So that will spice up that singles match on Sunday.

My first hole of Aussie golf - drove a 280-yd green to 20 feet and made birdie. Should have quit right there. Bunkers in this country are true penalties and the greens are like putting on a tile floor. My 3-putt total has skyrocketed for the season.

More Pres Cup updates when they warrant...

Awesome! I'd give you Melbourne recommendations but I have a feeling whatever my 21 year old self did may not be as enjoyable today

whats the take on the patrick reed penalty? intentional or unintentional? im inclined to believe his comments that he didnt do it intentionally and understands why its a penalty when watching the video but understand the skepticism

the camera was literally right behind him so I'm leaning towards unintentional

I was confused as to why he was allowed to ground his club at all... didn't know it was a waste bunker. Even after reading the rules, I still wouldn't know how to know an area was a waste bunker unless the course told me so.

They're usually where rough would be, they are ungroomed, un-fine (is that a word) sand.. you'd know

Rule changes instituted in January made it legal to ground your club in any bunker. I think the easiest way to spot a waste bunker is that they typically don't have rakes because the bunker doesn't get groomed or prepared. Also, this isn't his first go round at pulling this move.

He's a shitbag.

i still don't think you can ground your club in a regular bunker though?

In addition to being able to use your hand to remove loose impediments like that dadhole Matt Kuchar, you can touch the sand with your club but can't take practice swings that test the sand or ground your club behind the ball immediately before playing your shot. Can ground immediately before shot in hazards and waste bunkers, if you can figure out if your ball is in a waste bunker.

Nevermind I have a new take. Even if he unintentionally moved the sand he sure as sht knew he did it and should have called the penalty immediately
