Getting to play Nevillewood tomorrow. Missing the final round at Winged Foot but I'll get over it
I played there a few times a while back I’d like to hear your hot takes on the course
Honestly I loved it, it exceeded expectations. I was just expecting a well manicured country club course but it was great. Best and fastest greens I've played I think. It's so nice to just get the ball rolling on a 5-7 footer and not worry about speed, cause it's gonna get there.

It had some fun holes, nothing too gimmicky I don't think. 5-6 par 4s that you couldn't really hit driver so you had to use the whole bag. Only real complaint was every green complex was about the same.. wide but not deep, and angled away with bunkers guarding the front. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but just repetitive. They must have had a tournament in the morning or Saturday because every pin was tucked far back with as little green to work with as possible and the most carry possible.. shot 40-47, couldn't get anything going on the back. Pretty impressive place. Oh and those houses...
@MrKennethTKangaroo what were the roo's thoughts on the place?

Agree with a lot of the ulfters sentiments. Very playable course even if it is pretty tough. I tend to not like a lot of the courses in western PA that were built within the past 30 years (i.e. Hickory Heights Pgh National, Stonewall etc) but Neville was an exception. I think the pins are set up that way deliberately. from what i understand, nicklaus likes to make his courses somewhat forgiving and to give an opportunity to take a safe bet at the cost of really scoring well. But if you want the risk, have at it.

i find most of the home architecture to be less than appealing.

I can see that. My only beef with that then is that a lot of the greens were so undulating/multi-tiered that there isn't really a "safe" shot to the middle of the green. I'd rather go for pins and try to get up and down if I miss my spot than putt 50 feet through multiple breaks and tiers.

Some of the houses are very nice and some are just brick 90s mcmansions beefed up to the nth degree. My great aunt and uncle had a place there, just nuts

Just witnessed one of the best rounds of anyone I’ve played with. My girlfriend dropped a 70 on the 6225 yard tees. Didn’t miss many shots in that masterpiece.

I played River Forest CC out in Freeport yesterday. Shot an 84, not bad. Just wanted to say here the greens they have are some of the toughest I've played on (qualifier: that are actually well-kept). They were both fast and sloped, and I watched on multiple occasions as my two playing partners hit 2 or more putts from the same spot that would get close, and roll right back to them.

I can't say I've ever seen greens that unforgiving. And yet somehow I came out of it with only 34 putts (likely because on putts that should've come back to me, I blew it 4 feet past the hole so it never caught the slope).

Today was the first time we had played in over a month. The only 'comp' we get is extra savings on GolfNow at only 4 courses in the area. But the biggest 'comp' might be the $5 for a regular-sized bucket at one of the Marriott golf centers here and that comes in very handy because everywhere else, that amount of balls will be close to double that price.

Finished 1-2-1-1 to shut the door on my wife and oldest daughter at the putt-putt course this weekend. Was looking for OP for my post round interview but must have missed him.

Shot 79 at Schenley last week, I did not expect to get a sub 80 round this season, having just started playing again last month. But it was a very schenley aided score, I muffed almost every iron shot, but I was sticking 75% of my chips, so I was par or birdie on all the 260 yard par 4's and then bogey or worse on all the par 3s and other par 4's, so it didn't feel like I was playing well. And the shaft on my driver mysteriously broke on the back nine.

Producer killed the assignment at the last second.

I hope you did a double fist pump and sprayed champagne all over the green.

I'm hoping to get one more round in before the season ends. Had my PRP injection on my shoulder two weeks ago today and was told to take it easy for 2-4 weeks. I'm in the window of what he gave me but wouldn't mind resting it another week to be safe. If I'm lucky enough to get one more round in this year, I'm thinking that will be it for the year and the clubs will go back in the basement for 4-5 months.

I did have to wrestle a mechanical alligator and trash talked my daughter for taking 20 seconds to line up a putt and then stepping away.

Hit my first house tonight. Tee shot on Hole 7 at Hickory Heights. I tried to cut the corner and leave myself > 230 to the green. Smacked the **** out of it, but the teebox was uneven and the ball was slightly above my feet, so I pulled it... right into the siding of one of the houses down the left side.

Nice. Never hit a house there, but I’ve put plenty in backyards.

By house do you mean window? Because I average one house per round on neighborhood courses
