as dumb as LIV is, it has the “rival league effect” that the AFL, ABA, WHA, etc all had as the PGA is scrambling to make changes

no cut is dumb but it’s obvious that Phil was right with the PGA withholding paying players more in purses. They caved pretty quickly on that

also I was curious about golf architecture and what course designers’ process was like. Couldn’t find a video of exactly what I was looking for but this one was interesting enough

the best part is when he talks about his own course he designed. It’s cool to see how they think in terms of challenging players, rewarding players and also being forgiving to players

Supposed to be some aggressive wind in Florida today as it gets clipped by the same system that is bringing rain to us in Pittsburgh today. That's kind of fun to watch once in a while but I hate how it can change the outcome of a tournament.

And it’ll be a big change. Just starting to freshen here. By noon, it’ll be blowing pretty good and the afternoon wave is gonna be in a tough spot. Tour had to really soak the greens last nite so they wouldn’t become impossible this afternoon.

By the way, this broadcast sucks. I want to watch golf, not overhead shots and special features

@Orlando Penguin, does Kitayama have a puncher's chance tomorrow? He showed me something on the back 9 today.

Disclaimer: Not a jinx, just asking a question. I don't think he will win

He has the pedigree to get it done and he does have 3 runner-ups in the last calendar year. But this is his first 54-hole lead and there is a ton of class on his heels. But he does lead the field in driving accuracy, which is a giant deal there given the rough height. Winds won’t be nearly as bad as the last 2 days. If this was the 3M with not a star-studded field, I’d give him just as good a chance as anyone. But this one might have too much quality competition there to run him down.

There’s a buttload of guys within 3 shots of the lead. Gonna get wierd at the Arnie.

I’m going to the range and hit balls for the first time in 2023

Awesome that Kitayama hung on to win this one. He's a good dude and this was a long time coming.
