All the courses around me are booked solid. That was the only place I could get a tee time.

Some nice courses in fort mill, but prices have gone up quite a bit the last two years.

Both public courses, and the one in Tega Cay, in Fort Mill were booked for Thursday-Saturday.

I've only played Carolina Lakes over that way.

Haven’t played Tega cay yet, but want to. Really like Springfield, but hard to get a good rate now. Same with Fort Mill CC. Definitely harder to find tee times now than anytime I can remember.

I play Carolina Lakes quite a bit. Live next to Stonebridge, which is decent. Eagle Chase is a great course, but that’s probably a solid hour for you at least.

I was supposed to play Stonebridge back in March, but that obviously got nixed. I have a buddy who lives in Waxhaw and we play Pinetuck, which is a mediocre course, but a good midpoint for both of us. It's also cheap.

According to the Google machine Eagle Chase is 1 hour, 15 minutes.

But that's not that bad.

Stonebridge is nice, just think it’s a little over-priced, mostly because there are the people in Waxhaw who can afford to pay more. I’ve played Pinetuck a few times. That’s where I take my daughters, since they don’t really play and, like you said, it’s cheap. I also really like Lancaster. It’s tough to find bad courses around here, lol.

Yeah, I was looking forward to playing a lot more this spring/summer.

Hopefully that will start back up soon.

So much Carolinas golf course discussion. I played Firethorne CC once.

It didn’t go well.

NASCAR was mired in pace laps and cautions so I flipped on golf. NBC was interviewing Trump instead of showing, you know, golf. Guess live sports isn't worth the effort today.

When I turned it on it was a blimp cam shot of the course with Trump babbling about death and destruction on the phone. I made the above post, came back several minutes later and he was still talking. I didn't go back again.

Sports is an escape and NBC really blew it.

With the exception of the amount of money that was raised for charity, which was the main reason for the event, it was pretty much a dud. I only watched it partly because I felt like I had to for work and because I didn't have as much interest in the NASCAR. The actual golf was blah, the channel got changed immediately and then muted when the Cheeto-in-chief showed up, and the ending was incredibly anti-climatic. Imagine having money on the underdogs (I didn't) and have it lose because of a closest-to-the-pin contest. They raised $7 million+ for charity and that's great but there's been a lot more criticism for various things from the TV coverage to the lack of LPGA presence (which I understand but why the F wasn't this brought up BEFOREHAND?) than overall praise. Maybe the Tiger-Phil hit and giggle this Sunday will be different but I'm gonna guess that it won't.

It wasn't entertaining in a competitive sense but I liked watching it. The telecast was a dud though. You have 4 (okay maybe 3) of the best in the world mic'd up and the announcers talked over them the entire time. Then Bill Murray and Trump nonsense.. if they would have just shut up and showed the golf I think it would have been fun. Either way I was just glad to see some golf, and especially to see Seminole. I think this Sunday might have a little more competitive-ness to it but we'll see. "The Match" was kind of a dud the first time around

Yeah, that's a giant mistake that all golf announcers make. It's almost like there's not allowed to be a few quiet moments. Someone. Always. Has. To. Talk. As a result, we miss out on little things like caddy-player interaction or other of those type things. It's pretty infuriating. Why mic up the players if you're not going to get the effect from those mics?

What did you think of Seminole? My take will likely be unpopular.

I would love to play it but it's not a challenge for these guys. Only one par 5 wasn't an easy home in two hole for them. Might have been a little different if it didn't rain so much but they could just throw darts from anywhere. The par 3s were really good

I didn't really see anything special about it. It's a seaside Florida golf course -- no elevation, a lot of sand, and not that much water in play. Other than it being a Donald Ross design with those trademark greens, it looked pretty ordinary. Maybe the exclusivity of it makes it mystical and so much in demand? I don't know. But seeing it on TV didn't look much different than any of the courses I played when I was in Australia.

So the US Open eliminated all qualifying. Not really an open anymore

That should get Phil into the field. He was in danger of not having the necessary world ranking to qualify and he'd have to go through sectionals to get in. With it being different times, I don't fault the USGA for taking this step. They've also canceled the mid-ams so that'll be one less entrant into the 2021 Masters.

my typical game is not ever hitting my driver well and making up for it with my irons and short game. I played yesterday and it was the total opposite. Launching the driver all round and not hitting anything else like I've ever even played before. 2020 is wild

I’ve been similar last few rounds. Seems like I finally have my driver down, but I can’t hit irons... like half my shots aren’t getting off the ground. So that’s been fun.
